OFW VIBES. There’s always a first time for everything. It’s my first time in Qatar and I have an 8-hour layover before I proceed to my final destination. Got to feel the weather conditions outside cos we exited down the stairs and I kind of love it cos it was freezing during the entire flight that I stole a blanket from an empty seat so the warm breeze was something I neededt. One thing I love is — NO FACE SHIELDS. Literally, the moment I arrived in Doha, the news that I saw in the Philippines on Facebook is that there’s P70M worth of FAKE FACE SHIELDS that were found somewhere in Paranaque. How can you tell what’s real from fake anyway and how do you fake a generally already cheap face protection slash accessory slash WHY DO WE STILL NEED THEM IN THE PH? A QR staff was telling passengers coming from the Philippines to take off the shields “for screening”. But there was no screening at all, lol. It’s literally prolly just a way for them to tell people, “YOU CAN FINALLY REMOVE THAT UNNECESSARY THANG.” But since we do use them in the PH, I still encourage everyone to wear it. Still, it’s frustrating. That’s how we ended up here where I got my photo taken. A QR staff approached me and told me I could take a seat on the chairs available around and said, it’s okay cos I was just taking a photo. Turns out, our friendly QR staff was a Filipino and we chatted for a bit and I took advantage of his hospitality and got him to take tons of photos and videos of me. Ahh, human interaction again? We’re here for it. So nice to meet you, Sir June. Thank you for these cool shots. He also gave me two bottles of water, cos he said everything at the airport is quite pricey, and we love that. Ang dami ring Pilipino rito at marami ring cutey humans from all walks of life, CHZ.
