are you falling asleep?" "...." "alright. From the prompts (hopefully continuing the Katniss dorm series?) 🙂↕️
Since it's you, I'll allow it, @smartalexy. Here is Part 3. Which I rate as a solid M, so be careful where you read this one!
Here's where you can find Part 1 and Part 2. ____________________________________
They fall through the door to her dorm room, wrapped in each other. Their lips and fingers conduct a frantic exploration as they stumble to the bed.
Katniss fights with the buttons on his crisp white shirt and then gives up, yanking it out of his pants instead. She shoves his jacket off his shoulders. By the time it hits the floor, her hands are diving under his shirt, sliding across his belly, over his hips and up his back. Peeta groans in response and pulls her tight against him, holding her by the hips so she can feel how much he needs her.
She can sympathize. She feels a bit feral herself, like there's a caged tiger inside her, trying to get free.
She claws his back, scratching all the way to his waistband before reaching for the button on his pants and flipping it open.
Skin-to-skin, she thinks. She needs it. Now. If she doesn't feel his naked body against hers in the next 10 seconds, she's going to combust.
It seems he feels the same. Peeta's lips latch on her throat and he pulls down the zipper on the back of the flirty dress she bought in his favourite shade or orange. “Off. Now,” he gasps, releasing the clasp on her bra and burying his face in her cleavage. She steps away, letting it all fall to the ground. She slithers out of her panties while he sheds what's left of his clothes.
Peeta sweeps her into his arms and lowers her to the bed. She holds out her arms to him and he climbs in with her, rolling her beneath him.
“This is gonna be fast,” he warns, reaching for the condoms he’d stashed in her bedside table the night before.
“God, yes. Hurry,” she urges. “I need you now, Peeta.”
He plunges home and she cries out in ecstasy. She's never felt a hunger like this before, didn't know it could exist. It feels impossibly good to share her body with Peeta, the person who knows her better than anyone else in the world.
Her legs wrap around his hips, keeping him close and deep as he moves inside her. With every swing of his hips, they sprint higher, straining for release. He sits back on his heels changing the angle and she gasps. Her eyes close and her breath shallows. She's so close.
“Peeta,” she keens.
“I know, Sweetheart. Me too.” His fingers slip between her legs and he rubs quick circles until she explodes beneath him. As she falls, he follows her into oblivion.
They lay quietly for a while. Katniss absentmindedly slides her fingers up and down his back, lost in thought. She doesn't have the right words for how she's feeling. At least, not words that won't change their relationship yet again, just when they're finding their way as a couple. Anyway, she's sure he knows how she feels. She wouldn't be doing this otherwise. No one would understand that better than Peeta.
Finally, Peeta speaks, his face buried in her pillow, his lips near her ear. “Can we freeze this moment and live in it forever?”
She smiles. “I’ll allow it.”
“That's generous of you,” he snickers.
It's quiet for another few minutes and then Peeta finds the strength to move. They slip off to the bathroom to clean up. Peeta insists they pick up their clothes which makes her grumble, but it's such a Peeta thing to do that she co-operates anyway. Eventually, they find themselves back in bed, nestled up like a pair of spoons. Peeta yawns and burrows deeper into the covers.
“So much for going to bed early, huh?”
He snickers. “Well, we made it to bed, anyway.” When she sighs, he tells her not to roll her eyes.
“You can't even see my eyes.”
“Trust me, after all these years, I know exactly what Katniss Everdeen rolling her eyes sounds like.”
She smacks the arm he’s got thrown over her waist and he chortles mischievously.
“Anyway.” He nuzzles her neck. “I blame the dress. You looked so damn hot tonight. Every guy in that room wanted to be me.”
She scoffs. “As if.”
“S’true,” he says with a yawn. “I know this is kind of new still, Katniss, but you should know. I’ve been a goner since the day we met.” He sinks deeper into his pillow. His voice is sleepier still when he confesses, “You're it for me.”
She smiles into the darkness. Leave it to Peeta to find the right words. She screws up her courage and says them back.
“You're it for me too.” She waits for a reaction, expecting he will kiss her or squeeze her or rhapsodize about how great they are together. Instead, she's met with silence. She wonders if the baker’s hours have caught up to him at last.
Noah Elliott is OC!Peeta and he just won gold at Paraolympics. Made me think of OC
💗
Thank you for this! Always nice to hear that you are thinking about it since I’m pretty much always thinking about it and how it’s still not finished 🤪
Just wanted you to know that I am currently crying over Two Wrongs like it’s the first time and not the nth time I’ve read this 😭
Aww, such a throwback! I remember crying writing parts of it.
Part of me often thinks about updates that I would make with how much the city has changed. Or funny snippets like Katniss crushing on Brock Purdy because she thinks of him as "Football Peeta". Or the Mellark bros competing for the Hunky Jesus title at Dolores Park.
Or even a 2nd Gen story featuring the kids as young adults trying to make it in the Bay.
5 8 12 I also cannot remember the last time I sent an ask to anyone LOL
Aw, thank you for breaking your ask moratorium on me!! <3 I want your answers to all of these, please. You asked some hard ones that have actually unraveled everything I thought I knew about HP
5. The Marauders... back when I read the books, I took them at face value- I guess like a naive child with a father complex would: I loved them. James and Remus and Sirius and Peter (grumble grumble) were brash and wild and adventurous, and what’s not to love about that? Except... they were bullies. Entitled white men, actually, who did what they wanted to do without fear of the consequences, being sheltered from any real consequences by virtue of who they were. As an adult, and in the era we are in living in now, it’s hard to be “pro-Marauders.” I mean, even the name... I guess the dark side to who they were and what they did was always there. This isn’t to say they were date raping their way through Hogwarts, but they were actually little shits, and if I were a professor at Hogwarts, they’d have no love for me, nor I for them. So I guess... anti. Not like anti-Death Eaters, but they’re on the spectrum if we apply what we know about the real world to them. I do think we could have a separate discussion about the Marauders as children versus who they grew up to be as men.
8. You know, Lupin never got a fair shake. Harry was always all about Dumbledore and Sirius, but I found Lupin’s counsel and presence to be far more benevolent and wise and calming and helpful. At the end of the day, Dumbledore used Harry like a pawn, and although I love Sirius, he was such a wild card- always absent, always hard to pin down (by virtue of being a fugitive lol, but also because I think that’s who Sirius was).Sirius was like the non-custodial Disneyland dad, and Lupin was the guy who marries your mom and is there to change your sheets at night after you piss on them. (Will I regret all these thoughts tomorrow after I’ve had time to marinate in them?)
12. I love Severus. Always did, always will. Knew he was never truly in league with Voldemort and would pull through for Harry. That’s not to say he couldn’t be a bitter prick and a bully, but he was a tortured soul that only ever really wanted to be love. And he loved Lily so faithfully that he was willing to sacrifice everything for her. He feels like a tragic doppleganger for Harry- what Harry could have easily been in an AU.
Tell me what you think, and also who you think are the most evil characters!
First fic I read in this fandom was 74th Hunger Games Challenge: We Always Were. I remember it had just started and I was sucked in immediately. I've read countless others as the talent in the fandom has been such high quality.
