First off love your blog, been following you for ever now, but I've seen you've been posting lots of dragon age inquisition. I'm planning really want to play it but I'm going to go through the first two before I touch inquisition. Do you have any tips or just words of advice for a first time dragon age player?

And sure, I can give some helpful tips.

For Origins, Sten is a missable companion in Lothering, so if you don’t want to miss him make sure you find him. (He’s easy to find, he’s in a cage on the edge of town) The order for the main 5 missions can go however you want, but I recommend doing the circle before doing Redcliffe at the very least because the circle can help you in Redcliffe. And with the circle there’s an area where you go into the fade. Ask any DA player and they all agree, this bit is the worst cause it’s long and can be hard to navigate properly. The DA wiki has a pretty great walkthrough for this section if you get stuck there. Talk to your companions a lot, increasing their approval gives you their personal quests (plus they’re an awesome group in general) And just make sure you check everything you can, there can be a lot of quest you pick up off bodies or chanters boards that if you don’t check often you can miss. And when you hit the part with the landsmeet, make sure everything else is complete because that’s bascially the no turning back point going into the endgame. Oh, and the high dragon you find at the urn is one you can skip the fight on and come back to later when you’re higher level.

As for 2, it’s pretty straight forward and simple. Though, if you take your sibling to the deep roads at the end of act 1, make sure you take Anders with you. And check all the stores and every chest you can each act because your companions armor upgrades are there and they change each act. Also, if you care about achievements, I don’t recommend doing the, I think it’s called supplier, it’s the one about gathering all of possible plant resources, I don’t recommend doing that first time because it’s the biggest pain in the ass and I’ve played it many times and I still keep missing one. And again, just make sure you talk to your companions and increase their approval.

And some general stuff, you don’t have to actually read any codex you pick up, but they do give good background on the world and everything. Always try to keep your party balanced, I usually try to take 2 warriors, a rogue, and a mage. Make sure you have lots of potions or that your mage has heal and/or revive. And be ready to laugh, cause man, the hands in the games are sometimes really bad and it makes scenes really funny.
