My mother died on Ash Wednesday Her last words were to angels Who serenaded her on her way To God and up to heaven. They asked her to join in But she didn't want to sing. It must have been a hymn She knew, but said, "You sing." By diabetes, most her life, stricken And yet she died from cancer. Accompanied by angels up to heaven, Serenaded by an angelic, heavenly chior. Died at the age of 77; Would have been 78 that year; Serenaded by angels up to heaven On February 9 2005 Ash Wednesday.
