These were taken at Smith Rocks, right next to Terrebonne, Oregon.
One thing I'm learning is that sometimes it is difficult to convey a sense of scale. To do so, I am using four photos of this rock climber to show how truly gigantic these rock formations are.
In the top left photo, you can see the climber. This is our subject. Try to keep an eye on them.
In the top right photo, you can still see the climber. On the right hand side of this photo, keep an eye on the broken-looking rock formation on the right. This will be our foothold (pun intended).
In the bottom left photo, you probably can't see the climber in the thumbnail, but if you zoom in a little, you should be able to see them.
And finally, in the bottom right photo, this is the full scale of the rock they are climbing. Look for the broken rock formation again, it's sort-of on the right and towards the center. Our climber is just a handful of pixels when zoomed in, and clearly has a long way to go.
