Smith to Do: Yarn Pumpkins and Terrariums. This weekend I went to one of the most popular Smith to Dos, terrariums. We got to pick out containers, add rocks and soil layers, pick two succulents, and pick a plastic figurine. As this was a popular activity, we only got to do one. However, on less popular activities like the Yarn Pumpkin Smith to Do I went to a month ago, they often let you make more than one craft and even take supplies home :) Recommended if you’ve got time on Saturday at 7 pm, happens pretty much every week!

Smith-to-Do!! Ping Pong Lights

This past Saturday, Smith-to-Do hosted a ping pong light making event!! It was way easier than I thought it would be and surprisingly quick! It was definitely a fun event and de-stresser from weekend work and the previous week!

Here Andressa '19 is making her lights and designed a cool, yet simple pattern to adorn her ping pongs!

Smith To Do: Floral Room Decor

When I’m feeling particularly stressed out–as I am now because it’s mid-term season–one thing that I can almost always count on finding comfort in is #CRAFTING. In dealing with a heavy workload, I like to ~periodically~ reward myself with non-school related activities (no matter how small or seemingly mundane) that help to ease the tension and allow me to just take a break, relax, and remember that I’m a human (who needs fun/laughter/self-love) and not a work robot. Being able to give my brain a break to just work with my hands and be creative with whatever I’m doing is something I have come to hold dEAR to my overall well being, and Smith To Do allows me to do just that–and for free!

Smith To Do is essentially a weekly DIY sesh that takes place every Saturday at 9pm in the Davis Ballroom, and provides Smithies with a safe, “alcohol free environment where students can participate in fun activities while making connections across campus.” I myself have met some new people and even made friends while #craftingmyheartout, so definitely check it out if you get the chance!
