Keeping to the shadows of the buildings, Dara made his way into the humans territory, small clicks from his hooves echoing in the quiet streets, head low to try and remain unseen. The last time he'd snuck in he'd come across a bookshop, he was fascinated by the books he could see through the window, but a few days earlier he'd come across an old book in a damp cave by the silver lake deep in the forest, he assumed this was where it came from and wanted to bring it home, besides he couldn't read despite his best attempt.
There was a soft light glowing inside, his curiosity got the best of him as he reached to the doorhandle and pushed it open. He hesitated before tentatively stepping inside, his hooves slipping on the shiny floor at first before he managed himself and fully entered the store, the door clicked closed behind him but he was too distracted to notice. click click click went his hooves as he glanced around, book held tightly against his chest before he saw him, a human? Oh god someone was there and he was looking at him!
Dara panicked, dropping the book and quickly trying to make it back to the door, slipping on the floor and falling, his thin legs scrabbling as he struggled to get back up, he felt humiliated, he was a prince, he was supposed to be more dignified than a regular deer, yet here he was, struggling to get up and to the door.
