I have been consumed by Stardew Valley, alas
What would the boys' opinions of it be, perhaps? Or if you'e never played, maybe what games would each of them like?
Alas! And oh well lol. A good game will do that to ya!
Blue - The biggest gamer by far. He'll try anything, but he likes side-scrolling platformers, fighting games, and first person shooters the best! Puzzles and racing games are good too! Anything that has lots of energy and keeps him moving, preferably with fun music and a challenge to it. Some of his all-time favorites are Kirby Superstar, Portal, Apex Legends, Smash Brothers Ultimate, any of the classic side-scroller Mario games, Mario Kart, Doom (original and 2016), Tetris... but that list is far from exhaustive! He prefers to play with friends when he can, so he's always trying to convince the others to pick up a controller with him!
Stretch - Not the biggest gamer, but he'll play with Blue sometimes, so he's at least competent at some racing, fighting, and fps games. On his own, Stretch might pick up something with an interesting story to it and not a lot of pressure to manage a health bar or inventory. Shorter story-based games like Eliza, Citizen Sleeper, Florence, and Night in the Woods appeal to him... Things that might not have a ton of replay value but have interesting characters and narratives that he wants to see through. He also likes cozy games like A Little to the Left, Suika Game, and Powerwash Simulator that he can play while high and not be punished if he's a little slow reacting.
Papyrus - Now here's someone that would really appreciate a resource-gathering farming sim like Stardew Valley! He likes a game he can really get into and feel proud about hard-won progress. Of course he makes sure he doesn't fall into it too hard because he's got a lot of other things on his plate, but it's something he looks forward to playing in his downtime! He's got a crazy efficient farm and loves the part where he gets to make friends with everyone in the game. All his villagers are at max hearts for sure. He'll play with Blue sometimes too, though he's really only interested in the racing and puzzle games. They slammed through Escape Simulator in like one day lol.
Sans - Not much of a gamer, but he and Papyrus grew up having Mario Kart, so he likes that one. Occasionally he'll join in when Blue asks for a Kart session.
Red - Also not much of a gamer, though sometimes he'll hang out and watch Blue play his shooters. He enjoyed the Doom playthroughs in particular. Good music. Lots of violence. Thumbs up.
