Collin gave Smolford an option for how he wants to celebrate Halloween this year. He feels it's important to give the child the freedom of choice. So at the breakfast table he asked;
"Would you rather dress up and go out trick or treating, or would you rather stay here and watch some Halloween cartoons and give away candy with Ms. Spruce and I? It's entirely up to you."
"I've never been guising... err, trick-or-treating before but... Halloween is very... different from how I remember it. It might be prudent to learn more about the holiday before participating..." The small vulture put a hand to his chin in thought. He also had no idea what he would dress up as.
"I think I'll stay in this year. If that's okay?" Asking like that was a force of habit - Collin had never forced him to do anything he didn't want to but... some habits are very hard to break.
