I have a whole timeline in my head for how this played out 😂

First, I re-wrote this scene in Ch31 (I think) where he makes her beg, knowing *full well* that it would piss her off. She’s like “you asshole, I’m gonna get you back for this” which is SOOOO Harley. But that’s the same chapter where she first starts realising she trusts him & isn’t scared of it! And shortly thereafter she realizes he trusts her too. (400k words later)

But she is sooooooo stubborn, and he’s suuuuuch an asshole. This push pull would have lasted a few months for her before she’s like ALRIGHT FINE I LIKE IT.

And you’re right about J too. He has no problem begging her in theory, he just loves annoying her. It’s almost exactly like how he won’t get out of her way while she’s trying to put fresh sheets on the bed 😂

So anyway, yes it’s about trust, but it’s also because they’re both Dom/mes and there’s this great tension because of that. Harley just happens to be physically weaker, impatient, and honestly, greedy for orgasms so she’s at a disadvantage. 😂😂😂😂😂

Yeah... a lot of smut with the Joker is predictably BDSM-ish or just outright sexual violence. I remember when I was writing the Harlequin I wanted to make him sensual but still in character with all his sharp edges. He’s not an animal who can’t control his impulses, and he enjoys sex. It doesn’t always have to be some big game for him. Like he can just have a quickie in the back of a car of the mood strikes him and enjoy it 😂

He’s got a big ego, and my version of him would always prefer to have someone want him, or even have them convince him to take them home, than any other dubious consent situation. Similarly, there’s something about being responsible for Harley Quinn’s orgasms that just makes him want to strut around like a peacock, haha. Like getting her off is great for his ego, and super fun and sexy for him to watch at the same time! J going down on Harley is definitely not a completely selfless act, lol.

But he’s not some soft, gentle lover by any stretch of the imagination. knife play, blood play, too much degrading kinks and embarrassment kinks really make me go "meh", uncomfy and scroll through in smut tbh, daddy kinks have been used too much, its become too mainstream and repetitive unless its written well, i think you've got more places to explore with your j and h in the context of smut without using much of these things and i think that's amazing, i remember you mentioned before just because they kill people doesnt mean they should be sadistic in bed too

See, I think it could be done well if it’s about power dynamics and exploring those in the bedroom. If you’ve got character development and nuance tied into it.

But that’s rarely the case. It’s a cliche people use without thinking about what it means. Daddy kink, praise kink, “knife play”— they’re sooooo overused and never in an especially nuanced way. They’re just used by default, frequently in a cringe-worthy way, and that is why you’re right, anon, it should be killed with fire 🔥🔥🔥

This chapter is a high point, for sure. It’s got a bunch of relationships developing left right and center, it’s got this stupidly elaborate plot finally coming together, and it has this big smutty ending that they both really deserved after such a stressful day. 😇

I decided to go all out on the smut this time. Just let them be as nasty and intense with each other as they rightfully should be 🤷‍♀️
