After the initial reception of the Smuttys, we have decided that the best course of action is to heed advice from you, the creative, for input on managing this year’s ceremony. We realized in our haste and lack of preperation the surprising number of snubs as well as nominees that didn’t win a single award, and for some, we rubbed them the wrong way. We sincerely apologize for our mistakes.
So we would now kindly like to hear from you about what we should do for this year. What changes should we make? What sort of involvement do we add for readers and writers alike?
Our original vision remains the same: to give due props and appreciation to creatives for providing artful content for us to enjoy.
We hope you’ll be kind to us and answer in a sincere, honest manner.
tbh i would like more ways writers would be appreciated. but I don't think smuttys is the best thing to do. there was a lot of talk before of writers not joining since it wasn't really handled well. imo I do like how smite is doing his Monday of appreciation. it strives me to write better and hope one day my fic would be featured. if you can do something like that then sure.
I'm not one to ask for improvement since I don't know how. but if you really want an opinion. i would want to find better way to nominate fics and have more voters. when I voted I had no idea who to vote for since I don't really read non-izone fics.
anyway it is just my opinion. if you want to push for it. i just want to remind you that there was a very bad taste last year. i hope you can understand what I mean.
