towards the last few days before the concert, sunmi started to tidy her things up. her section of the room/dorm was never messy but she started to repack. she leaves out clothes for the remaining days plus her toiletries (for obvious reasons) but everything beyond that is packed away.
during the final month she’s been spending her time eating her snacks by a window. to a nearby camera she says, “it’s nice to watch the world outside. it’s like a version of unplugging. it’s relaxing and good for my mental health to not be so obsessed with this.” she smiles, pointing to a passing bird. “soon i’ll be free just like that bird. i’ll spread my wings and fly away.”
she’s been checking in on wendy here and there since the conclusion of their argument to make sure the younger is doing okay. wendy seems to have gotten her act together but it doesn’t stop sunmi from making meals for her or making sure she’s sleeping properly.
sunmi had been focusing on her vocals! though she doesn’t get a lot of lines in the songs, she makes sure she’s stable while singing. she made sure of this by always practising while doing the dance number. to test her limits, she’s taking to singing while she does push ups, planks or her strength-and-core-balance poses (hand stands, yoga poses, etc.) sometimes the singing throws her off balance. she laughs it off every time from the floor where she fell
at some point during the month sunmi has made lunch for each of the other participants. she’d do it multiple times if they asked for another meal cooked for them (and knowing haknyeon, sunmi packed him a healthy snack too when she made his meal). whether they eat it or not is up to them! but she makes sure they at least get the meal!
she’s been overall positive and encouraging with everyone during the final month. it seems as though the red vest doesn’t mean anything to her. anyone who asks for help, an opinion or suggestion gets it without question. anyone who seems apologetic for her position ( like jungwoo did ) gets a shrug and is told that “everything happens for a reason. if this is how it is meant to be then there’s no use in fighting it.” although she 100% doesn’t agree with her position, she isn’t going to openly slander hyun bin for his dumb ass decision.
one night during a late night practise for herself, she confesses to the camera that she is so proud of every single one of the contestants of the show. “you have to understand a lot of us have been together for years now. that’s why we’re so close. people may not realise it but you grow close with people you share the same space with every day whether it is intentional or not. i wish everyone luck. no matter how this turns out in the end…… i can’t think of a single person in the company who doesn’t deserve winning. everyone worked hard.”
