About the fae stuck in their animal forms, my theory is that the Stag she saw before entering Endovier was actually Brannon stuck in his animal and trying to help Aelin ( I don't think he's dead because we never actually talk about how he died and I can imagine him not wanting to rule over Terrasen and faking his death or something)

I would say that although it would be nice, I (personally) don’t know if it’s true–on page 55 of Heir of Fire, Maeve tells Celaena that “my [Maeve’s] eyes across the sea have brought me such strange, horrible stories of you…like the tale I heard over a year ago, that an assassin with Ashryver eyes was spotted by the horned Lord of the North in a wagon bound for [Endovier]”. 

I interpreted this as meaning that the Stag/Lord of the North was just a spy (worker?? idk about terminology here) for Maeve. That’s just how I interpreted the scene, though; anyone else have any thoughts??
