SK8 THEORY
I was re-watching ep12 of sk8 and yall remember this scene:-
Followed by this scene:-
Now we finnaly see what Adam's problem is, which is that he is alone and wants a partner. The catch is that he doesn't believe in friendship and thinks friends are just to teach you about betrayal. From what we have seen, his closet friends were cherry, joe and Tadashi. Tadashi grew out of the skating bff role and became adams butler/assistant as he was from a lower class. But what happened between him, cherry and joe??
My theory is that when adam didnt change his reckless and muderous skateboarding technique despite constant warnings from Kauro and Kojiro, both kauro and kojiro snitched to adams higher master. So that was the betrayal from cherry and joe.
What if the evening adam told them that hes going to America cherry and joe immediately went to his house and snitched?? Idek anymore its just a random theory
big fan of whatever these two got going on
Tadashi animatic thing that took way to long
Everyone has something physical about themselves that they get insecure about. It’s just the human condition. I thought it would be neat to really think about and try to come up with the little physical insecurities the SK8 boys might have and I had a lot of fun with this, which I hope will make it enjoyable for you lovelies to read 😊
Langa doesn’t really get self-conscious about much all that often. He’s pretty quietly confident and that extends to his physical appearance. A part of it is simply that Langa doesn’t really care if people find him physically attractive. It’s not something he thinks about all that often. When he does just sit and look at his body, it’s mainly because he’s injured and he’s checking on those injuries. However, there are times that even he’ll be looking at his body and he’ll just zone out and think to himself ‘this part of my body looks weird.’ This happens most often when he’s looking at his feet. Langa thinks he has weird looking and ugly feet and he’s not exactly wrong. Snowboarding and skateboarding both are hard on the feet and his toes are kind of messed up looking, along with the fact that he’s lost toenails in the past and when they regrew in, they grew in kind of wonky looking.
Reki’s body is the type that just doesn’t gain defined muscles easily at all and it drives him insane. He sees guys like Joe and how handsome and attractive everyone finds them, with their muscular builds and chiseled features and he wishes he could look like that but his build and body just will not do it. He’s super active – skateboarding is fantastic exercise – and I think that at points, he’ll convince himself that he’s going to go to the gym and try to bulk up. He’s tried doing so twice but he always quits fairly quickly when he sees no real changes in his body. Even if he kept at a gym routine, I think he’d only gain a little bit of muscle definition – his build is always going to be lanky and lean, with the muscles he does have from all the skateboarding making him deceptively strong but not particularly bulky.
Miya knows he’s still growing. He knows this logically. It still doesn’t keep him from being a little insecure about his height, especially at S where he’s the shortest one. He knows he’s the shortest simply because he’s the youngest and he does feel the pride in being the youngest skater at S, but at the same time, he definitely has a sort of complex about how short he is compared to the others and he doesn’t like having it pointed out or rubbed in his face. He kind of worries that even when he hits his growth spurt, he won’t really grow all that tall. He definitely would love to grow up to be on the taller side; he’d love to reach that six foot mark like Joe but at the same time, he sees that neither of his parents are really all that tall and he worries he’ll always be on the short side.
I think that Shadow is actually really insecure about his appearance in general. He doesn’t have a great deal of self-esteem, something he hides under that uber-confident masculine person of Shadow. In his day to day as Hiromi, he does struggle with feeling confident with his appearance. He is really proud of his strong and muscular body that he’s worked hard to obtain but he wishes he was more traditionally handsome like Joe, for example.
Cherry is someone else who is generally very secure with their appearance. He doesn’t have a lot of physical insecurities and realizes that a lot of people find him attractive. However, he does have a pretty major insecurity and it isn’t so much around his actual physical appearance but more around the way he moves his body. It’s not an all the time, always worrying about it insecurity but he’ll get worried about it out of the blue every now and again and it becomes something he gets unreasonably anxious about. Back when Cherry was a preteen and into his middle school days, he had a group of bullies and one of them made a comment that turned into a running joke about how Cherry even walked like a girl and swayed his hips a bunch. He doesn’t think about it much as an adult but sometimes he’ll be walking and the memory will hit him out of the blue and he starts overthinking how he’s walking and if he’s indeed ‘walking like a girl.’
Joe’s body insecurity hasn’t even happened yet, ya’ll, which is hilarious to me. In my mind, all the men in Joe’s family have the curse of early baldness. Their hair starts thinning in their late twenties and they normally have a bald spot that starts appearing in their late thirties. By fifty, almost all the men in his family have either huge bald spots or have gone completely bald. Joe is terrified of this happening to him too and he’s a little vain about his hair. He uses high-end thickening shampoos and he checks out his hair very carefully in the mirror every day, especially since he’s fast approaching his late twenties, when the thinning normally starts.
Adam actually has to put a lot of work into his eyebrows. Their style, size, and appearance are actually carefully chosen and maintained. That’s because, if left to their own devices, Adam’s eyebrows tend to get bushy easy and he has lots of hairs that fall weirdly outside his eyebrows – he’ll get random hairs a little bit above his eyebrows that don’t fit with the rest and he especially gets random hairs between his eyebrows. It’s not enough to be considered a full unibrow, but it’s definitely approaching it. He gets his eyebrows waxed routinely so that he can keep his appearance to the standards he’s been taught are ‘acceptable.’
Snake is someone who is not at all focused on his own appearance. He doesn’t really even take it into consideration most of the time, outside of just making sure he’s presentable and neat enough to not reflect badly on his professional acquaintances. Most of Snake’s appearance is dictated by Adam, in my mind. Because he doesn’t really think about his appearance much, Snake doesn’t have a lot of body or appearance insecurities. The one that comes to mind, possibly the only one that really ever bothers him, is that Snake is prone to cowlicks. His hair just does not want to behave most of the time. It kicks up on top and out at the back and he hates the fact that he actually has to use product to make it behave, mostly because it’s extra time and effort when he wakes up that he doesn’t want.
