BABY SNAKES ARE COMING!!! Congratulations everyone! Soon baby snakes will be all over town. After making necessary adjustments to my snake houses that is best for them, my snakes are breeding again and here is my first clutch of Eastern brown snake eggs. Soon baby snakes will be everywhere. In the mean time, here are the snake call outs yesterday that I remember: 1. Broadgully rd Diamond Creek Snake fight woth dog and then hidden under granny flat. Couldn't access snake even after pulling up floor of flat. 2. Valley rd Christmas Hills copperhead behind cabinet inside. 3. 6 SNAKES RESCUED - 2 DOGS BITTEN BUT SURVIVED Yesterday I got called out to: 1. Lowlamd copperhead in Rankin Rd Panton Hill which had a fight with a dig 2. Eastern Brown in Warrandyte on Naughton Ave 3. Eastern Brown in Ballam Way Doreen which had a fight with a dog 4. Red bellied black at a school (I won't name it) in Epping 5. Tiger snake in house in Diamond Creek late at night just off Collins St 6. Brown snake (turned out to be blue tongue) in Greensborough right near the plaza. NOW THAT'S HUGE Of all the snakes I caught or handled yesterday, one in particular stood out above the rest due to the sheer size of it. Of course this was someone's pet in an enclosure but OMG I've never seen a black headed python so big that it makes me look small and skinny. Fyi - snakes are out and about yesterday: - Diamond Creek on Kingfisher drive (Tiger snake) - Wonga Park near netball courts (tiger left before I got there) - Chirnside Park on Sunset Rd (coppethead) - Park Orchards on Park Rd (Brown snake) - Warrandyte just near the shops (Tiger snake in shed) - St Andrews near the pub (brown snake) Remember The Snake Hunter 24/7 Snake Catcher is now based in Warrandyte area so you'll see me walking along the river until I get a call out. MY FAVOURITE STORY THAT WE HAVE NO PROOF HAPPENED In Yarrambat, I got a call out to a Tiger snake under a boulder. On the day, I had a photographer with me. Upon arrival I saw a large reptile on the boulder and said: "That's a blue tongue". The home owners said: "no the snake is underneath". Leveridging the huge rock with a long crowbar held down with my right foot, I found 2 large Tiger snakes underneath. Grabbing the tail of 1 snake, the 2nd snake unusually tried repeatedly to bite me as I hsoved my second hand under there. Fending off the second snake, I managed to capture a snake in each hand and pull them both simultaneously out from under the rock while continuing to leverage the boulder with the crowbar. Still holding 2 snakes at the same time, I turned to the photographer and said: "Did you get that on tape?" He was no where to be seen. The camera was on the ground and he was running away around the corner in the distance.
