PSG and SYL
Well...I was hoping this wouldn’t be a problem but it is. So we are going to have story time.
Back in the day when P101 was still around and PSG was a speck on the monitor, a mod there who went by various names left the group. Through leaving, they created a wonderful blog named SpellYaLater, also known as SYL. The former mod and I were friends and I had come into taking over PSG after things had finally settled. When they created this blog, we had a discussion and from then, SYL and PSG were affliated. When SYL was still around, we did make sure to source where we got our links from. When SYL disappeared, which it did completely. we were left without a resource page, and while there were many good ones out there, they weren’t SYL.
So, the person who ended up creating PSGR posed the idea of making another resource blog. It didn’t become a reality until last summer. SYL had been inactive for at the very least 3 months before finally shutting down. We waited as long as we could before making another one but with the influx of inboxes and the need for resources, 3 months was long enough.
Now concerning the bullshit we are dealing with now:
I have heard many different things and read many different things, From support to being rude. I’m here to clear things up as the PSG OWNER.
1. SYL AND PSG were affiliated in the past 2. SYL’s owner had NOT directly contacted me on the issue, despite having various places for them to reach me at, also if the previous SYL owner wants to talk to me, you know how to contact me.
Edit: I was just contacted by them. Let’s see what happens.
Edit #2: Was just blocked by them when trying to explain exactly what happened. While we had reached some idea of an “agreement” again, they weren’t understanding what actually happened and with that lack of understanding, it didn’t feel right for the conversation to end.
3. Leave Ghost alone. While the look for PSGR is modeled after SYL, many of the links which were associated with SYL were broken because they linked directly to SYL. Keep in mind, also, that the links are stored in the archives of our blog. When we first learned of SYL departed, we went back and took those links to use, most of which ended up becoming defunct. I know there will be a post made by that mod later today and you all can read it over there.
5. This was not a Copy&Paste job:The moderator who cared for all of this did so much research that it took them a year to make this a reality. We did not just blindly copy and paste from random blogs, true research went into this.

So people have said that my thing and Ghost’s post don’t match up. The idea was posed and I agreed with the idea. I set up the blog with the theme and some other tasks coding wise, and Ghost went behind and did the links and coding for that. Throwing around an idea isn’t he same as starting a project when someone else already has their niche.
I mostly made this post to give a small background, nothing seriously detailed and to address some common things I had seen when approached about this.
