Anniversary Offering

I figured that a good way to kick off this blog would be talking about the first physical offering I've made to Snaktooth, commemorating the release of the game on November 12th. Nothing dramatic but it felt fulfilling and warm to do.

I also lit a lavender gelato scented candle and made some homemade chocolate sauce (recipe forthcoming) to use here and offered whatever sauces I could, and substitutes for anything I didn't have:

Homemade chocolate sauce

Ketchup

Tabasco hot sauce

Ranch

A pinch of parmesan (for cheese sauce)

Ground almond (for peanut butter)

And settled down to play the game, of course. The remainder of the chocolate sauce was eaten with marshmallows during all this - eating at least some of the offering didn't just feel acceptable, but encouraged by Snaktooth.

Though I've been wanting to do this kind of thing for a long time this was pretty spur of the moment

Bugsnax communicate with one another through sound.

It's a popular headcanon that they communicate via pheromones, but I think that this has more canon support (though I believe this is by no means their only communication method - I think they may communicate through pheromones too). Here's my evidence, running roughly from least to most compelling:

Most bugsnax sing while idling, even ones without especially musical-sounding voices.

Wiggle's singing and banjo playing attracts the megamaki, and possibly enrages it too.

The island becomes actively hostile after a party featuring loud music.

The snaktivator uses sound to induce snakified limbs to change - sonic anamnesis means "memory retrieval through sound".

I have begun a new, exciting adventure! I'm sure you've heard of the mystery of Snaktooth Island, haven't you? I'm sure everyone has. But, no grump has gone and come back to tell the story!

Well, I plan on changing that! I, aswell as plenty of grumps like you, are venturing to the island to discover its amazing secrets!

Now, you're probably wondering what this has to do with you. Well, simply put, I want you to join us! I've read your work, and I think you're just the Journalist for the job!
