The Greek word roots miso- and -phile are very productive in English. They create words that express opposite concepts of hatred, mistrust or love, appreciation.
A bibliotec (librarian) and bibliotheca (library) are uncommon words, but words such as âmisogynyâ and âmisanthropeâ are fairly common. Other less common words and downright interesting ones are âmisogamyâ and âsinophile.â How about âPhiladelphia?â Does it use -phile in its name?
