A brand new pack of @chai_walli 11 Spice Chai manifested on the doorstep today - just in time, because the last lot is almost gone. In iso, we've formed a habit of taking chai at 4pm (almost) every day. It isn't always accompanied by a tasty treat, but today I made a second batch of the vegan cupcakes that I've christened "Jammy Bastards". I'm going to be away from home this Christmas (Granny time, so that's okay!), but I had to have at least a tiny tree to get in the mood. I made a wall calendar with @snapfishaunz again this year. Last year was "Cacti, Kids & Cats"; for this year's, "Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder", I put images of rust and peeling paint alongside grids and grilles - all taken at Marshall's open day - and flowers from my garden. December is devoted to grandkids though. My mum couldn't make it to Cairns for Simon's wedding to @x_justjay_x in June so I took plenty of photos, switching between the phone and the "real" camera. Consequently it took a long time and three or four attempts to get them into chronological order in a photo book from @snapfishaunz ! We picked up the book from the p.o. this morning and it looks great, if I can say so myself. I used some photos from Cairns Botanical Gardens for backgrounds on some spreads, for local colour. I had such a nice time chatting with old and new friends over food - and with this view, until the sun went - I hadn't even noticed how late it was. 😏 Happy New Calendar! I made two different calendars with @snapfishaunz - Commer desk calendar, with lots of pics of taken of the rusty, lichen covered Commer truck that my father bought in the mid 1950s, and a wall calendar, Cacti, Kids & Cats which features the three grandkids, a number of family cats, and cacti, some from our own garden, some @cactuscountry - an awesome place for photography, even if you're not a huge fan of prickles! Don't tell them, but I've made a photo book of the family cats for Tilly and Banjo for Christmas. The books arrived in the mail today, now I need to wrap and pack and send a parcel on.
