Frustrations

I caught covid and by extension my partner now has it and I'm extremely frustrated and mad at the circumstances as to why. I went to work at a furry con this past weekend (I vend) and I came home with it and I am so mad because ""masks were optional"" and i don't know if I caught it from an attendee or another vendor but I feel like it doesn't matter because it makes me so mad how many of my peers just don't mask at these huge ass events. Likewise they always tout "look out for one another" sort of mindset and just don't mask? You know masking includes looking out for other people especially their health and folks that cannot get the vaccine or even with it are a high risk group? I'm so angry. I am lucky that I am vaccinated but I still feel absolutely miserable. Everything's come to a hault. 100% an avoidable situation if everyone would have just worn a mask.

The irony of this week is that I didn't cry because of anything our shitty government had done but because I was trying to find some solace among the lgbt community necause of the stress of that only to have a fairly well known queer group blatantly say "we don't want trans men" and the isolation has hit really hard so like. I know this has been said in the community tons of times before but I'm literally watching some pissant 40 yr old man have a fit because a Native is in the UK during the climate discussion wearing a headdress of CITES species and he's tagging the UK wildlife officers in his Instagram post and bitching "if a taxidermist did this they'd be all over them!" Like yes you fucking trollop because it's known well within the VC community that Natives are the only people allowed to collect any CITES or MBTA protected species (not to mention to my knowledge also are on wait lists for years to be given Eagle remains). Like God fuck off into a hole or some shit, go suck on a rotting egg I hate this community so much I'm so glad that I've almost entirely stepped out of the wider VC community and only stuck within smaller circles of people who aren't troglodytes
