The type of concrete forms in the photos is a Waler system. The form itself starts off with a Sheet good. In this case we used a Sheet good with MDO on one side and plywood on the other. The form gets its strength from the 2x strong backs. The forms are held together with A2 snapties that are connected to dark metal wedge tie on the outside of the form. We also used red heads to secure the bottom of the form to concrete grade beam. The snap tie keeps the wall width uniform through out the wall. But it will also add an architectural detail to the face of the wall when we’re finished. As the A2 snaptie has a plastic cone which is placed on the inside of the form.
