I was asked why I was so annoyed and disappointed with Shingeki at the Bahamut Virgin Soul, being that I’ve always been a big fan of the series since the first news about its production began to come out.
I was really happy with the idea of this character ( Azazel) being developed after SNBGenesis. There is so much to show about it. The first four episodes made me believe, mainly due to the tone used in the opening and closing of the anime, that we would have a joint story between the two, almost as if the two worldviews, one very dark and driven by revenge and another very optimistic, Had to collide and blend, so that the two could mature. I thought that Nina, who had already shown a sense of justice, would understand that what was happening in the capital of Anatae could extend to her village, and then she would become part of the fight against the king’s oppression, evolving to control her emotions and In becoming dragon. There could have been a really engaging story, perhaps even bringing a little of their past, especially Azazel, if the studio had not changed so abruptly. But it seems that at some point a great aversion to this possible line of development was formed within the studio. Sometimes I think that all the good script and directing team was moved to the development of the new anime of this studio, “Shoukoku no Altair”, leaving someone very contrary to all this idea involving the fallen angel and the dragon girl in charge. I’m not saying it just because the couple Charioce X Nina. Actually, I accepted that they could be a couple, provided there had been a less forced construction. What I'm saying is, she, “on a bizarre’s way” feels something by taking his hand when they first meet, than he saves her from danger and than they had a kind of date and he dances with her.
Okay, we know that Nina is a teenager full of hormones and that a little bit of kindness could affect her a lot. But then, she simply falls in love to the point of putting aside all the atrocities he has committed. It’s just insane. It looks like there was a super brainwash on this character and that everything she showed in the first few episodes just broke and splintered, like glass. She knows he tried to kill Mugaro, he arrested Jeanne , he attempted to kill Azazel (whom he apparently does not even remember),he enslaved demons and built a weapon to kill Gods. (Ok, not only to kill Gods, but, you got it)
And all she thinks is "I want to understand why the world hates you" . Oh, God, really?! Seriously?!
After all this, the reflection that the anime is broadcasting to viewers are “love him independent if he is a genocidal ” and that’s ridiculous and really frivolous.
I do not believe this is the reflection that an anime with so much potential should transmit.
Judge me if you want, but realize that I did not lie.
