Re: "The King's Evil": I know this one! It was used to refer to skin diseases like scrofula, due to a belief that the touch of a king could cure people afflicted with them. There's a reference to this in Macbeth--characters discuss the English king healing people with his touch, to draw a contrast to Macbeth running his own country into the ground.

...but if the only connections with kings is that they cured it then why King’s Evil

was it also CAUSED by Kings? this all makes so little sense
