So I'm going to snowglobe for the first time and am so excited!! But I am from SoCal, literally have no winter clothes, and was just wondering if you have any tips for packing? And for the fest in general?? I know it's more about surviving the cold vs looking cute, but I'd rather not look like the Michelin man bundled in 18 snow jackets
Hey! SnowGlobe is so much fun. The lineup this year is breaking my heart it’s so good. You’re gonna have a blast!
To start, I would go and see if you can borrow some winter clothes from some friends if you don’t want to invest in any. SnowGlobe is SERIOUS cold. Don’t underestimate it haha Last year there was about 6 inches of snow to plow through in some areas. I was so happy I had my snowboarding pants and ski jacket. Snow boots are a total must as well. The snow will melt through anything else and you’ll freeze your toes off :(
Most people are rocking their snowboarding gear, so you won’t stand out as the Michelin man haha, you’ll just blend right in :) The people who stand out are the ones who come unprepared and end up leaving early cuz they’re too cold. Even toward the center of the crowd, at the main stage you’ll still be cold. Only the two tented areas get a bit warmer when you’re in the middle, but still not hot.
Here’s my article from last year on some tips of what to buy/bring with you. I would check that out to start :) You can also check out my recap here for some more info on how I felt post the event.
There’s lots of ways to make your marshmallow look cute, so don’t be afraid of it :) Here’s some of the fashion pics I took last year to check out and get a sense of what people wear :) You can definitely accessorize to make your look complete. My top suggestions for this is LED items, cool eye make up/jewels, and an awesome hat.
My top tips to keep warm: buy some hand AND toe warmers. Gloves, scarf, hat, snow boots, and if you can, a heavy jacket and snow pants. Trust me, you won’t regret it all! Have so much fun!
