Paul is rockin those new Piedmont colors, it almost looks like an entirely different 727, if it wasn’t for the FedEx labeled duct tape that’s still under the fuselage.

So what’s even cooler than having Adam West’s Batmobile in your old school’s (kay, the school’s aeroclub) aircraft hangar? 

Actually, I really can’t think of anything cooler than that at this moment, especially when I was giving a tour through it to two former US Presidential pilots. The Batcopter was also there again this year, I didn’t get to see it up close other than when it came in for a landing. 

But yeah.. My week was pretty freaking awesome.

Of all the things to show up to Sun n Fun this year, this Fokker Eindecker replica is by far my favorite. I originally found it, almost ran into it, when out for a stroll to get some F-35 pics, just after sunset. 

I met the owner of this birdie the following morning, he said he built it from a kit in under 60 hours. Says it flies even better than the original from 1914, which was notorious for being incredibly maneuverable yet dangerous and sometimes fatal for newbie pilots. Though I have no idea how much stick time this guy has, he mentioned the yoke had been kicked and jammed entirely to the right but he managed to keep it level and steer it to the ground with just the rudder

I’m actually considering getting one of these kit planes as they’re both under the price of a used car and just saying “I fly a fighter plane” is cool as hell.

aye, so I was working the Sun n Fun airshow this past week as I do every year, and the Air Force brought in not just a couple F-22 Raptors, but an F-15 too!

Then when the Raptor went up for a demo flight (which was incredible) and it flew by with a showing of the armaments in the bomb bay, they played the G1 transformation sound over the loudspeaker as the doors opened. 

And that’s when my inner Starscream fan over nerded to one of my best friends, who luckily, happens to like Transformers and aircraft just as much. :3

And for bonus points, the F-15 was parked next to a KC-135 Tankor (where I took this pic from) that happened to be from the same Air Force base that Starscream tried to steal a Tankor from in the Marvel G1 comics.
