Think, uh... reckon he mighta been better suited to the conscience thing than me." A pause. "Lady might disagree, of course. But he's smarter than I am, too. If I could go back and tell her to pick again—"
He can't, obviously. Instead Jiminy spends his time fretting about being somebody worth spending his time on. He looks at his hands and twists them together.
"Feels real special. Havin' somebody like that care about ya. Feels like you ain't done nothin' to deserve it and can't ever do enough to earn it."
