So for the Anguine AU I kinda hc that Mulciber and Avery were Sev and Muds' roommates...and by gods can you even fucking imagine lmfao

Im thinking of calling the au where Murdoc and Snape go to hogwarts in the same year and are friends the Colubrine AU bc im Mega Pretentious and have no better ideas lmfao

I go back and forth on what height sev should be for sniccals content: like on one hand, Tall Snape is exceedingly funny and lends to great Height Difference Content™, but on the other hand, two short pissed off goths bonding over being stupid small is really fucking funny too (also murdoc lending Sev his cuban heels? 👌👌👌)

Im never completely sure how different sev or muds would be in the Anguine AU. Like...murdoc having ANYONE there for him consistently who isnt toxic or abusive would be huge for him, and i have a feeling having a more mutual friendship would do the same for sev....but also theyre both probably awful to each other a lot realistically (im just a hurt/comfort whore and too weak to make them bad to each other), not to mention horribly codependant...and one good relationship cant fix everything, let alone one thats bound to be as imperfect as theirs (i also always wonder how dysfunctional they really are), so...

I guess its more a matter of what changes, and to a lesser degree how much. Im sure murdocs still his cowardly, selfish, dysfunctional self, but i tend to envision that hed be very protective of his one friend, and his need to please and impulse control issues override his survival instinct or need to be a shithead more than hed probably care to admit. Severus would still idolize lily a bit, but i think things would be different if he also had a friend more like him than someone he aspired to; someone imperfect and in fact not very nice at all, but someone who understood him better.

I also just wonder...theres just so many questions to pick at i guess....does murdocs relationship with Sev affect Sev's relationship with the wannabe death eaters or even the rest of his house? (probably lmfao) How does murdoc feel about blood purity? (i have some ideas...he likely thinks little of it considering everyone hes met so fars a prick no matter their blood, and hes not doubt kinda locked out of that shit being part goblin) how does murdoc avoid getting kicked out of school? Are murdoc and sev as a team better at defending themselves? Etc etc etc

I know im gonna have to make a decison here, i just want to find a balance between realism, cynicism, and self indulgence
