Oh, anon. The short answer is no.

Firstly, let me thank you for alerting me to the fact that their “critique” has been posted, as I’ve been threatened with for two weeks now. At least now it’s out.

What anon is referring to is this:

I’ve been advised to let this go for my health but I won’t accept being slandered in return. A “critique” I can get behind, but I don’t want to see any lies being spread. So no, I have not been slandering sniktice and their partner. What I guess they’re referring to is that last week, following their ultimatum and reporting of my fic to ao3 (but more on that later), I contacted the grand total of six (six. Not sixty, not six hundred; SIX) of my followers, who are also friends, and told them the following, which I’ll copy-paste for the sake of transparency:

“I wanted to give you a heads-up that my fic *might* be deleted by ao3 at it was reported by a person that has been harassing me for a month, and who is still harassing me. I tell you this to warn you to be wary of this person as they seem kind and sincere at first, they lure you in with mindless chatter, gradually demand more and more attention, and finally start with their harassing and demanding you bend to their every whim.They're emotionally manipulative. It's sniktice. I played nice up until now, I never even told their name to others as I know they received shit in December, with that thing with cykelops; but now I'm done. I don't want other people to believe their lies or fall for them and be harassed next.”

Firstly, if I’d wanted to slander them I’d have written a public post. I’d have publicly denounced them; I wouldn’t have contacted only six people, I’d have spread the word. Secondly, I never mentioned their partner. Never. I did block their partner, but I never uttered a word about them: they’ve been nothing but polite to me, and I only blocked them to avoid dealing with anyone that was associated with sniktice. Any of the people I contacted last week can attest to the fact that I never mentioned sniktice’s partner, so the fact that they’re using that lie to “justify” posting their critique is quite telling in itself. Now, onto the accusation of slandering proper, that is: “Have I been lying? Am I trying to remove them from the community?” My purpose in sending those six messages wasn’t to remove them from the community, but to create a safety net for myself. As a friend made me realize, what sniktice has been trying to do was to isolate me, so naturally I sought to warn other people of what was happening. As of last week, only two people knew what I was facing, and even then I refrained from saying sniktice’s name, out of respect for them, because I still thought this could be dealt with maturely and, as I say above, I didn’t want to invite anons to their inbox [and I do hope that no one goes to their inbox now. I will not condone that]. One of these two surmised two weeks ago that the person I was dealing with was sniktice, and I confirmed it. This person urged me to try and have a conversation with sniktice and offered to moderate it, but things went south real fast, partly because of me too, because I was tired and exhausted and I’d frankly had enough. We closed that conversation rather heatedly.

Why had I had enough? Why do I say, in that message, that I’m being harassed and they were emotionally manipulative? That is, is that statement slander? It goes like this. In January or late December, I don’t remember the exact date, sniktice contacted me. We chatted. We began to chat a lot, almost daily. At the same time, they told me they’d begun reading my series. I was obviously very excited and we began talking about it too. They started pointing out to me missing warnings and the like, and I added them, grateful. At some point, I realized that the material would potentially be extremely triggering and I urged them to stop reading. I urged them to stop reading multiple times, and quite vocally. They read it anyway. They were so upset, after that, that in an effort to assuage their fears I told them the ending. Sniktice knows that I’m aware of the problems they’re posing and that I will acknowledge them in-story. I won’t touch upon what they say in their critique; I’ll let the story speak for itself, when it’s done. If I do fail in successfully convey my meaning, as they gleefully predict, so be it. At least I know I’m trying. I do want to say that their accusation that the story is inappropriately tagged isn’t true. I’ve been assured by multiple people that it is appropriately tagged. But sniktice isn’t interested in the story being appropriately tagged and other people being “protected” from it. This thing - them being upset, me telling them the ending - happened around the 15th of February. They wrote me a critique too, shorter than the one that’s doing the rounds now. I can’t remember if the backbone is the same, but I supposed it is. So I told them the ending, we started chatting again, end of the story. Except no, because then it truly began. They started finding faults with everything I wrote, adding new things with every breath, to the point were it began affecting my health too. I told them they were causing me anxiety attacks, they said they didn’t care. They would “control themselves” (their words, not mine) for a few days and then unload it all again, with throw-away comments, and long messages when I wasn’t online. At some point I said I didn’t want to engage in this anymore, but they just kept going. They wanted - want - me to “acknowledge” that I f****d up horribly and that the narrative does all kinds of terrible things and that fiction affects reality. They want me to bend over backwards and say they’re right and I’m a monster, probably, and never to write again. But when I refused to engage, they got stalker-y. They sent me a version of the critique that’s doing the rounds now, and told me that if I didn’t answer the points they were making, point by point, they’d post it. Their actual phrasing: “I want to make it clear that if you do not at least take the time to read through this, there is a very high chance that I will post it to Tumblr.” This was two weeks ago, and I already said what happened. We talked, we didn’t solve anything, we parted ways. Or so I thought. After that conversation sniktice blocked me. Then they they un-blocked me, sent me a few heated messages, and a lovely ultimatum:

Notice how this isn’t about protecting fellow readers from the harm that would come from reading my fic. If that were the case, they’d tell me what the problem is, and I’d tag it, as they used to do at the beginning. No, the problem is how horrid my narrative choices are, and how I should cater to them and write what they want, basically. So, after that ultimatum, what was I supposed to do? Cower and give in and submit to their disingenuous scrutiny? Oh, but they didn’t really *give* me the time to do that. The ultimatum was proforma, because not even half a hour later they were gloating, over at their blog, that they’d finally reported me.

So, after that, yes. I wrote to six people and told them what had been happening, because I wanted to warn them that the fic might get taken out, and that sniktice is emotionally manipulative and had been harassing me. Whether that statement was slander, I’ll let you decide.

the island of themyscira is a lesbian island, where women reproduce amongst themselves (sorry not sorry terfs this place aint for you). Men aren’t allowed unless it’s some dire circumstance. Women are allowed to visit freely if they desire and may bring their children. Harley Quinn was one of those curious outsiders. Wondy invited her to visit her homeland after a mission together, and she fell in love with the place. Whenever she finds the time in her crazy life she takes Pamela Isley, her wife, to vacation. Of course half that time is Pam nerding out over the plant and wildlife but she loves it all the same.

I’m going to address these as if they are from the same person. Though they came in hours apart. If you are only hearing about this for the first time click HERE. For the longest time I didn’t have any alternate methods of contacting Finn, just messengers and tumblr. About a year back or so they got a cell phone and we’ve been using What’sApp. (which you gotta exchange #s for) We talked for a few days after Finn’s blog went down. They were really upset about it, they’ve done a lot of meta write ups that were just gone because of read more breaks and just the general frustration of having it taken from them. We assumed that it was the ‘Tumblr Purge’ tm but weren’t sure. 

Then they just didn’t show up. I sent a few messages, tried to just wait. Nothing. I’ve checked with Sand3 and other friends. Nothing. I haven’t seen any edits on our Google docs. I haven’t seen my messages get read. (You can see that with What’sApp)  I got a bit hysterical about it for a day but ... if Finn’s decided to leave then ... I guess they’re gone. I keep hoping that it’s just a break, but Finn had been saying to me that they were done, that they felt hopeless. They’ve been the focus of a lot of abuse here on tumblr. All because they dared to speak their mind. (And you know, ask to pay a commission early because last year in December they were suicidal and wanted to make sure that they paid for the gift they’d commissioned for me.) 

I was pretty depressed for my own reasons before this happened, which is why my blog went silent. After Finn’s got deleted I felt guilty having mine. Now Finn’s gone and I just feel ... it feels pretty pointless. So if you don’t see me posting about much it’s depression, both because I miss my Dad, and I miss my partner.  Also Also; It’s weird to me that I’m getting all these questions on Anon. Like if you’re friends with me you should know it’s chill to just talk to me. Honestly it’d be nice right about now.

Who…

1. Acts like they’re dying when they have a cold? Quentin. It’s very ‘woe is me’. Benji just eye rolls and makes him some soup anyway.

2. Gets mad at the TV and throws the remote? Depends what they’re watching. If it’s something like the news or any political and someone with opposing opinions as him comes on the screen, Quentin will halfheartedly yell “boo” and flick the remote at the screen. But sometimes Benji can get REALLY passionate about who gets eliminated from reality shows.

3. Gets the worst road rage? Quentin doesn’t really drive, but when he does he is easily irritated. Benji is a textbook driver who respects that if you get angry, you’re only hindering your own driving.

4. Spends too much time in the bathroom on their phone? Benji watches Netflix shows on his phone, including when he’s on the loo. Shhh.

5. Packs the whole closet for an overnight trip? Usually, neither of them. But if it’s a school residential trip, Quentin will pack three suitcase and four handheld bags just to piss everyone off and look like he’s important.

6. Hates the in-laws? It’s not really an important/relevant thing here…

7. Hits the snooze button…11 times? Quentin. You know the scene in the Lindsay Lohan Freaky Friday film where her mum is trying to get her up for school. That’s Q some days.

8. Makes the other late for work? Again, Q is a terrible influence.

9. Uses the television as a babysitter? Benji is terrified of kids and really doesn’t know how to handle Shogo when they volunteer to cover babysitting duty. He wants to be good at it, but the kid won’t stop crying and he cannot handle this level of drama on a Tuesday evening, damnit.

10. Takes in the stray dog? Benji. He loves dogs. Quentin kicks off about it, but deep down he’s so excited that they have a pupper now!!

11. Suggests a 3am trip to McDonald’s? Quentin. He doesn’t suggest tho. He just does.

12. Leaves their shoes out for the other to trip over? Quentin does it on purpose after the first time Ben yells at him for it…

13. Can’t make up their mind when it comes to dinner? Quentin overthinks things. Benji was a college student, he’s happy with just noodles and chicken nuggets.

14. Needs to be reminded of all their appointments? Quentin. Not because he forgets (he’s a hyper-intelligent telepath, he can’t really forget), but because he just decides he’s not going and makes out like he forgot. Benji knows this, but doesn’t call him out on it.

15. Bribes the other into doing chores, getting out of the house…and taking a shower? They both coax each other into things. They can’t really say no to each other, so it’s fairly easy. This specific list though? Benji has to make sure Q functions like a healthy person when he goes through a bad time, because Quentin will literally just lock himself in their room and overthink everything in the dark for days on end.

16. Picks the movies? Quentin lets Benji choose, but will complain about the choice the whole time. (Benji only picks things he knows Q will secretly enjoy)

17. Takes the safety steps when building a pillow fort? Neither of them! You enter the pillow fort at your own risk, FOOLS.

18. Kisses the other’s injuries better? Benji. And Q always complains that he’s being soppy and disgusting (he secretly really appreciates it).

19. Is addicted to angry birds, game of war, candy crush, temple run, or flappy bird? Neither of them. But Benji had a brief Tap Tap Fish phase when he was really stressed once.

20. Kills the spiders? Neither. It’s not that Quentin is scared of spiders, it’s that they annoy him with how they get everywhere (he’s totally scared of them shh). And Benji doesn’t think the lil cutie deserves to die just because Quentin won’t enter the room until it’s gone, so he’ll just take it outside.

21. Hogs the blankets? Quentin is quite an energetic sleeper (partly due to nightmares, poor dude), so he regularly just tugs the covers over himself.

22. Takes pranks too far? Quentin takes everything too far.

23. Makes the dirty jokes? Quentin does, obvs. But Benji does have some really dirty ones that he occasionally brings out just to shock his boyfriend.

24. Keeps a piggy bank? Benji. Quentin has a hefty current account, and two very large savings accounts.

25. Has no problem having ice cream for breakfast? Quentin needs the sugar so will always have something disgusting like that for breakfast. Benji will sometimes sneak himself early morning treats if he’s sad.

26. Gets a tattoo when they’re drunk? Neither of them. But one time, Quentin almost persuaded Benji to get an Omega Gang tattoo on his thigh. shhhh.

27. Trips over their own feet? Both of them. They’re both clumsy kiddos.

28. Makes the other go for a walk? Benji sometimes has to force Quentin to even leave their room.

29. Whines until they get what they want? Do you really need to ask?

30. Tries to act tough but really isn’t? Again. Really? That’s basically Q’s whole character.

31. Talks the most, says the least/talks the least, says the most? Neither of them, really. Most of the stuff they both have to say has value. Though, Q can sometimes really go off on rants that only he understands.

Prompt: Logan's initial thoughts as he comes back to the X-men and finds that his son joined them.

At first his mind was blank, everything just went still and quiet. Logan wondered if he could trust his memories this time. He wondered if this was a manufactured memory. There had been a time when he had more of those than real memories, and though he’d gotten his mind back he had never really gotten used to the idea that he could trust it, his own memories.

Logan stood there in the control room with Ro and tried to sort it all out. What he was feeling, what he was thinking, what was happening, if it was real, if he’d made it up, or if it was being fed to him.

“I know Logan.” He felt Ro’s hand on his shoulder and turned his face to her. It was comforting to see her easy regality and confidant serenity. There was never a time it didn’t sooth him, never a time he couldn’t trust her. “I am proud of him as well. Your son has come a long way.”

“What? How can you parse it - I don’t even -”

Her finger brushed the tear from his cheek, drawing his attention to it for the first time. “Logan, stop fighting yourself. This is what you’ve always wanted for him. I know that you believe that you are always just a moment from snapping, that there is no real redemption for yourself. I’ve seen you project that fear onto him, and do horrible things because of it. Now you have a chance Logan, a real chance, to make what you broke right. Daken has done a great deal of work alone. He deserves your apologies, he deserves whatever love he can handle from you. The only question is; Will you let yourself have this Logan?”

Though he wanted to deny the truth in her words Logan remained silent. He looked back onto the practice in the Danger Room. He watched as Daken swallowed obvious frustration and went through the operation again, watched as he helped Jimmy, his alternate universe son, back onto his feet. He watched as Daken took direction and tried his best to work with the others and not against them. All the while Ro’s hand was on his shoulder, reminding him that this was real, and that he had a choice to make. 

“Suppose he likes chocolate the same as Laura and me? Maybe the best way to start out is an olive branch.”

The smile on Ro’s face said he’d made the right choice, and Logan knew she was right. After everything Daken had lived through, after all the betrayal Logan had served him, the man had still ended up here, still ended up an Xman. Never been so happy to be wrong in all my life.

Favorite story, so far: "I'll come back to haunt you if I drown" - it just hits so hard that I had moments where I needed to get up and take a few deep breaths to steady myself and this does not happen to me often. Your take on Daken is just overall so beautiful but him back to being ten years old? That was just wow. Wow. God I love everything about "We shall burn".

To the Anony who suggested emailing the authorities in Finn’s home country. I could possibly do that, but I have knowledge of their living situation that makes me hesitate. If I were to instigate something like a welfare check I could really mess things up for them, and if they weren’t in danger of harming themselves before, they would be after. As much as I want answers I’m not willing to take that risk. It is a good idea that would be the best plan in many situations, I just don’t think it’s the right idea here.
