Kensei looked out at the sunset in front of her, her tail flicking slightly from side to side as she stared. She had just talked it over with the Order of Whispers and stated that she would join them. Her thoughts churned around in her head, questioning her course of action, should she have made that choice? No, she shook her head, her brother would have done the same thing in her position. It was how they always played things, it made them the crack team they were today.
“Sister?” A low voice rumbled from behind her. Skaa, walked up to his sister and nuzzled her cheek, their white fur glowing in the suns dying rays.
“Where's Uukru? He normally follows you everywhere.” He mumbled.
“The old bird's resting back at the ranch, didn't want to get his feathers wet from the swim. As usual.” Kensei replied, referring to her pink moa companion.
The two settled into silence, leaning against each other.
“You know I'll be fine.” The male rumbled.
“We have never been separated this far before, brother.” Kensei mumbled, “These organisations battle each other, even more so than the legions, and here we are going into separate ones.”
“Sister,” Skaa said, placing both hands on his sisters shoulders and looking into her eyes. “I will be fine, you know I was never the greatest fighter, why do you think I trained in necromancy? Which is why I'm joining a scholars organisation, nothing bad will happen.”
Kensei's light blue eyes flicked away, from his matching ones. “I still can't help but worry.”
Skaa sighed and released Kensei from his grip “You always worry.”
The two stared at the sunset for what could have been an eternity.
“Hmph.” Skaa snorted. “Just because I was the runt. You always worry so much, Kenny.”
“Kenny is it? I thought you said you would never stoop to that stupid 'human' nick name, brother?” Kensei said smirking.
Skaa's eyes widened comically. “I said no such thing!”
“You are terrible at lying and we both know it.”
“Only to you, it would not do well to belong to Ash and not be able to lie, would it?” Skaa bantered back.
“Ash,” Kensei mumbled softly. “We'll still always be Ash, won't we?”
Skaa snorted. “Of course we will, Sister. This is always how we've done things. You gather the intel, I hit the books, you take out anyone we encounter, while I charm the ladies.”
Kensei snorted and wrapped her arms around her brother. “Just like always.”
“Just like always.” Skaa nodded.
