Sorry Anon, I've got a million manga panels saved on my laptop, but not many anime caps. So I can give you the manga panel from chapter 83 and this art that appeared in Animedia Magazine (I think?) but I'm afraid I haven't got the anime cap.

You know, I’ve seen a lot of people say Eren was being very selfish during Serumbowl for not letting Armin die because he’s his friend and he views his friends as elites or something, but he actually willingly agreed to Armin’s plan to take down the Colossal, knowing he had a high chance of dying. So it’s not like he never understood the implications. He pretty much accepted Armin’s death until he saw he still had a chance.

Moreover, when he remembers their first meeting, you can see him reverting back to this child-like state (his eyes soften and he looks much younger suddenly). That’s also the moment it really hits him that one of the last people he knew from childhood wasn’t going to be around anymore and he starts to grieve. Keep in mind he was 15 back then, so obviously he still wasn’t fully mature. And who would want to give up someone they love if they had a chance to save them anyways? Even Levi and Hanji struggled with that and they’re adults. 

Chapter 83

So I think it’s unfair for anyone to have expected him not to succumb to his emotions in that moment.
