I was wondering on the self proclaimed crack map of the SnK world, what countries (or parts of countries) from our world would make up the middle and eastern nations? By the way I love reading your blog. I probably spent an hour scrolling through it!

Ok please forgive my stupidity but I'm so confused as to who is who and what each group want, so is it possible for you to make some sort of eldians/marleys/paradis guide for dummies?

Behold. A new semi-crack map made by Falcon the Screeching Titan who tries to explain what’s going on in the current chapters:

There are two groups of Eldians: Those who live on Paradis are the walled Eldians, and those living in the internment zones of Marley are the so-called Marleyan Eldians.In the current 4 years the Marley has been fighting the Mid-East Allied Forces, which is likely formed by two countries: the Middle Nation and the Eastern Nation, while the Eastern Nation has been considered the Marley’s enemy around 25 years ago (chapter 87).Marley wants the Progenitor Titan power---he sent warrior children to breach the Paradis Walls in Year 845, trying to take the Progenitor Titan power back to Marley.The Eastern Nation wants its power too---she even supported the Marleyan Eldians’ revolutionary group led by Eren Kruger in order to get the power.And basically Eldians on the both sides are doomed. It seems the Eldians are the tools of the two hostile countries.

Random thoughts before sleep: I guess the scene in Snk 91 happens inside the light blue circle, and Marleyans are fighting against the Middle Nation and the East Sea Nation. The word 中東 is the combination of "Middle 中" and "East 東", that the two countries working together to fight Marley.

The tanks. The battleships. The plane(s). This is probably what is happening in Snk 91. A great war between countries and the Eldians are trapped in between them and treated as tools in battles. The Eldians are doomed, I am 90% sure about it.

Snk thoughts: Eldians vs the entire world

Assume Isayama has simply “mirrored” our entire world map to create the one in his story, it is likely that the walled Eldians’ enemies are not only Marley, but also other unnamed countries (except the one in the east).

Will the Eldians be free if they kill the enemies living on the other side---like, nearly everyone on the continent(s)?

After reading chapter 90, I’m so excited about what would happen in the final arc of the story, and I would like to hear some thoughts and predictions about the final arc from the fellows of the Snk meta community...

Snk crack theories: The East Sea people

~A crack theory post about Mikasa’s mother clan~

Inspired by one of @momtaku ‘s ask posts:

The origin of the East Sea people (or “Asians”) is the island of Paradis, which can be dated back to 2000 years ago. There used to be different clans, some who lived near the coast were fishermen, while those who didn’t were inland horse-riding nomadic tribes.

Some coastal tribes became explorers on the sea and discovered the existence of the continent(s). Since the tribes on the Paradis were facing the problem of overpopulation, many tribes joined together and embarked on the journey to the continent, finding a new home. Eventually, they built the East Sea Country (later known as the East Sea Nation), far away from the Marleyan and Eldian empires.

And around 100 years ago, the tragedy of Paradis occurred. As the Fritz King relocated his subjects to the Paradis, he tricked some East Sea people to let them tell the locations of other clans. The King commanded the pure titans to herd millions of natives together, used a spell to turn most of them into the Colossal Titans to build the three Walls. Others were rather killed or escaped to the continents, leaving their homeland Paradis.

So basically, Mikasa is looking at one of her people in chapter 33:

The King made the clans which helped him to capture the other natives to become the aristocrats of the walled Eldians. Yet, after the East Sea people defied the King’s ideology of having peace inside the Walls together with the Ackerman family, the King started to persecute them, and it appears Mikasa is the last descendant of the East Sea people on the island of Paradis.

On the other hand, not all East Sea people who escaped to the continents were lucky. While some known the way to the East Sea Nation and provided with food and shelter, the others who went to Marley were considered pests and trouble makers, being discriminated by the Marleyans. To deal with the refugee problems, the Marley government forced the East Sea people to live in the ghettos together with the Eldians. My hypothesis is, Grisha’s mother was one of them:

And nowadays, most people from the East Sea Nation actually hate the Eldians, for what their ancestors had done in the past and caused millions of them died and forced to leave their home. They want to take back Paradis and eliminate two major enemies: the Marleyans and Eldians.

According to chapter 86, it was the power of the titans made Marley the leader of the world.

And now Marley want to obtain fuels on Paradis in order to keep his title as the world’s No.1. Because eventually the titan powers will be less competitive than military power backed by fuel.

That means there must be other countries with rich fuel resources or modern military power can overpower Marley one day—and even replace Marley’s world leading position.

I suspect that country is the East Sea Nation.

What they need to do is “avoid Marley obtain the power of the Progenitor Titan”. If the Marley had succeeded, they will obtain the fuel on Paradis and they may even command the pure titans to attack other countries—which is something the East Sea people would not want to happen.

Perhaps they are treating the Eldians as tool—a tool to help them achieve political goals.

Just imagine the SCs ally with the East Sea people and sneak into Marley’s ghettos, in a mission of “rescuing” the Eldians”. And then they secretly turning the Eldians of the ghettos into Pure Titans and cause chaos in the cities. And then they drink with smug faces, watching the Marley government has a taste of his own medicine and the Eldians being eliminated by the Marley army. This is their plan of hitting two birds with one stone.

 Perhaps in the end, Marley and Eldia will both end in tragedies, while the East Sea Nation becomes the new leader of the world, without shedding their own blood.

Titan legs??????????? RBY made it to wall maria within one day.

It’s true that RBY were able to make it to Wall Maria in a day, but they didn’t have as far to travel as Grisha did. They also had their titan forms to rely on. True, Grisha did too. But Grisha was traveling through inhabited land. 

The map below has been floating around for some time. I think it first appeared on Reddit, and then calorescence published it. It provides a good idea of the dimensions of the walled world.

The inset map shows the real proportions, and the small text below Nedlay lets us know that the area within the walls was initially 30% larger than modern day France.

Tracing Grisha’s steps, he went from Shiganshina, at the bottom on the map, to Sina and possibly north of Orvud to kill the Reiss family. That could easily be 730 kilometers.

According to Eren’s memory, he met Shadis the same day he escaped from the cave. I just can’t imagine he made it back to Shiganshina or Trost in a day.

This map also gives us an idea of where Reiner and Bertholt fought the Survey Corps. It was northwest of Shiganshina, south of Chlorba district. We can get a rough idea of how far they travelled to rest atop the wall in Shiganshina.

I remember studying this map a few months ago. If RBY were trying to escape the walls and head back to their village, there was no reason to travel into the ruins of Shiganshina. They could’ve hopped the wall at any point.

The only thing I could figure is that 1.) They took a side trip to find Eren’s basement or 2.) They took advantage of the abandoned city to stock up on supplies for their journey. I think the latter is more likely.
