T/W: Weapons, smoking, kissing
You leaned against the window still looking out at the setting sun. The ocean waves ripped and cut through the brilliant orange color reflected onto the water. You sighed and took another puff of your cigarette, you blew the smoke out of the window and into the stifling air. It was the peak of summer and the heat never seemed to go away even after the sun had set its goodbyes.
Your ears perked when you head your bedroom door open. Soft footsteps hit the hardwood floors, the owner of the footsteps was agile and careful. You took in one final inhale of the outside air before turning your head.
“Levi, I didn’t think I would ever see you here again,” you imparted. The cigarette was almost out and you pressed it into the full ashtray next to you.
You turned around and raised an eyebrow at the dark-haired man in front of you. Your elbows were leaning against the window still, you were trying to look as causing and uncaring as possible.
“How could I resist you?” questioned Levi.
“Huh, it’s not like you haven’t done it before,” you leered.
Levi chuckled and leaned against the wall, he slowly took in the image of you, how long had it been since he’d last seen you? He tucked his thumbs into the loops of his belt and smiled at you. You looked at him unamused.
“What do you want, Levi?”
“I’m here to see you, Princesa,” he said, his voice tainted with false innocence.
“Sure like I haven’t heard that one before,” you said in a dry voice.
“Come on what else do you want me to say? I’m here because I miss you.”
You glared at him, unsure if he said what he meant but there was a small part of you that clung to the bit of honesty in his voice.
“Please, why are you really here? Are you done playing vaquero with all the other little boys? I don’t need you, Levi,” you enunciated every syllable, you wanted him to know that you weren’t playing around.
“I mean it when I say I miss you,” Levi assured and began walking towards you.
“Sure okay and what am I supposed to about that? Huh, Levi? Do you think I spent the last few months daydreaming about your return, yearning for your touch? Levi, get over yourself.” You crossed your arms and turned your head.
Levi was closer to you know, you could smell the scent of his cologne, the notes of pine and mint hit your nose. You felt a pang in your heart, he was so close to you know. Closer than he had been in a while.
“Look, I don’t expect you to forgive me. I-I know I did some bad things but…” he whispered, “I really did miss you. I thought about you every night.”
There was pressure behind your eyes, tears were begging to be set free. “I don’t know… it was so hard without you.”
“I know. It was hard for me too.”
Levi closed the remaining space between your bodies. He placed both of his hands around your face, caressing your jaw before leaning his face into yours. Tenderly he pressed his lips against yours and you felt your body melt under his touch. His hot breath entered your mouth as he intensified the kiss. You raised your hands to meet the back of his neck and began scratching at his skin. There was so much that needed to be said but you pushed it aside, the only thing that mattered was Levi’s skin against yours. His breath mixed with yours and your hands curled into this black hair.
Levi’s warm tongue entered your mouth and you sighed. You meet his with your tongue and began lapping at the soft muscle. Levi delicately traced his right hand down your spine, you could feel your skin heat up where ever he touched you. You continued kissing him back, breathing in his smell, relishing in the fact he was there.
In the heat of the moment, neither of you noticed a set of footsteps entering the room. It wasn’t until the hollow click of a gun broke the moment between you. Levi instantly reached for the gun in his back pocket and cocked the weapon. But the man already had the loaded gun to the both of you.
“You know everyone said it would be hard to catch you, Ackerman,” said the man. He was a tall brunette with a heavy mustache. Levi turned, protectively wrapped his arms around you, and glared at the man.
“I was beginning to believe them,” he drawled on, “but if it wasn’t with the help from our little Princesa here then maybe we won’t all be here.
Levi looked at you with his piercing glare. You meet his eyes and saw the disbelief, the shock, the hurt in his gray eyes. You began crying and mouthed I’m so sorry but it was too late. There was nothing that could be done now to fix this situation. The man chuckled and walked over to the two of you, he pressed the gun to Levi’s head and took away his weapon.
“Thank you so much, Princesa. Couldn’t have done it without you,” the man winked at you.
Through your tears, you glared at him with disgust. He led Levi out of the room, where there were three men with guns as back up. Before Levi, walked out of the room, he took one last glance at you. The hurt was written all over his face, he shook his head before looking down and leaving. You wept knowing you might not ever see the man you love again.
