Found your blog and followed immediately when I saw your ship! I'll be honest in saying I never heard or even thought of this pairing before. Mind if I ask why you ship it and are there any other blogs with underrated ships like this?

Hi hi @snk-stuff-here! Welcome to my humble space and thank you very much for the very appreciated positive energy (and the follow!) 💖 No worries, because you're not the only who's puzzled by my rarepair. I believed I have shared some of the roots of this ship back in this textpost. Though, a more revised answer would be I believe the alternative possibility between these two characters as a unit even more after the timeskip. Back when they were trainees, for me, it was more on physical compatibility, complimenting personalities & inner demons' coping mechanism - all through a strong bond with Eren (even when they barely spoken a word to each other in canon except when they're trying to kill each other).

After the timeskip however, I feel like they both would have had an amazing, complementary dynamic if given an opportunity and the best link would be a connection through Gabi. The central theme for each of them would be hope/life (Reiner) & love/family (Mikasa) that could also be applied to each other, which leads to 'moving forward' for them together. I hope my thought makes sense. And, I always envision Mikasa, having a family again because of Reiner's (as per the comment by one of my ReiKasa fic's readers on Ao3) & that mere thought alone, leaves a very warm feeling in my heart.

Oh yes, I must not forget the SnK HighSchool AU, I think these two would embody the 'defying status quo' trope. Quarterback & Rebel/Goth? I'm a sucker for that!

We obviously not going to see these two have even remotely a friendship in current canon (haha) but I'm a fan that always love to see a possibility in the impossible 😆 My favourite trope: enemies to lovers + love/hate relationship, without a doubt ;)

I read your response as to why you ship (or shipped? Not sure) Reikuri and was wondering if you still feel the same now as you did then? I wasn't sure how long ago you originally responded to that ask so I didn't know if the recent development *cough hisu pregnancy* had changed your opinion? Also wanted to mention that I love Reikuri too so I hope it doesn't seem like I'm being facetious with my ask.

Hello! Ah yes that post is pretty old now. I do still ship Reikuri, though it is no longer my OTP (probably still in my top 5 though). And yeah lol... the pregnancy just about decimated any confidence I might have had about the ship becoming canon. Luckily, I’m a multishipper :) 

And even if nothing becomes canon, we will always have our AUs and canon-divergent imaginings. I live for modern AU Reikuri.
