Getting a brief break from lake effect snow today! Tomorrow it'll hit us again and we're predicted to get 8-12 inches! We only got 4 inches or so last night (although it came down in 2 hours like damnnnn that was fast). Here's a couple more pics from sis last night! I'm honestly baffled at how sticky this snow is. Most of the snow I had in my last town was either really dusty and stuck to nothing, or really mushy and just clumped on the ground. It's so sticky and heavy that there are PLOWS getting stuck in it in the south area of town (where the current band is still hitting - they've gotten five FEET 😬). Lake effect snow is wild ya'll.
How are you baby bear?
Do you know me?☺️
Guess who I am!!
I love you Snow! 😘
What place that has snowy winters would you live if you could choose anywhere?
:D
Honestly, the Pacific Northwest is The Dream for me - not fuckoff-huge amounts of snow like a lot of the north Midwest gets, but nonzero snow in the cities and easy access to mountains with skiing, which is my favorite outdoor activity. (Also Lots of people I know live there! And if I can ever claw my way back into academia, it’s a very good area for my field.) Or various parts of Canada - I’ve never been to Vancouver, but some Seattle friends have assured me I’d like it.
Thinking a bit farther afield, Iceland is very appealing, but probably doesn’t have enough trees for my preferences.
Where would you want to live?
Local Dork Really Excited About Snow.
I find the glass roof at the science faculty very funny rn :D
10.5 inches in the driveway
