COD Left4Dead AU Sneak Peek

So the poll decided, here's a sneak peek!! I decided to give 2 little snippets because one conveys the glorious writing I've put into this and the other conveys that this isn't a serious story after all. (This fic is in the middle of an identity crisis. It doesn't know if it's a serious apocalypse fic or a 'the sillies kill zombies' fic. It is somehow simultaneously both)

The more dramatic part (I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to crop this without messing shit up. I am not tech savvy so instead I just wrote it here):

"It was a simple truth no one wanted to admit so openly, but a truth that needed to be spoken. They were panicked, scared and shaken up by the devastation they had walked through. Biles of rotting corpses, macabre bonfires of burning bodies and broken buildings. A place once deemed safe destroyed and reduced to nothing but a casualty in a war against the end of their humanity."

The silly goofy part:

Can you believe both of these snippets come from the same chapter?? I fucking love this WIP so much

It's some of my best writing so far and makes it all serious and shit but then there's still the sillies. Like it's just *aggressive happy screams* Like it's such a cheesy Left4Dead campaign-esque story but the writing in it is so dramatic and deep and just *happy flaps*

Please let me know if you're interested in being tagged for an update on this in the future. I would be incredibly happy to see anyone else just as excited for this

It doesn't have to be COD related, for anything it might help if it's not, BUT send me whatever little prompt you want

I think it might help me. Or maybe it won't but we won't know until we try it, ya know?

Some Travel Advice

DON'T do layovers that are more than like 6 hours, maybe 7 max, when traveling. And if you absolutely have NO choice, for the love of COD baby girls get a hotel room. Don't find a booth at the Subway restaurant in the airport and use your backpack as a pillow. Your neck will hate you more than you hate yourself.

You will hate yourself, everyone around you, your inner rage will start to make itself known in increasingly concerning ways. You will want to cry but also cuss people out. You will not recognize yourself in the mirror. You will become so delirious someone could trip you and you'd not even notice.

And don't forget to get earbuds or headphones that are compatible with your phone. If you need an adapter, make sure you have it. Without music you become overly aware of the void when you're just using earplugs. You start to become insane, more than normal at least. You will be possessed by a writing spirit and will give yourself a cramp from how much you've written. You will be awed but also afraid of your power.

You think you are unkillable. You are not. You are still mortal. The rattling on the plane upon takeoff will remind you of this. You will be unable to resist the lulling motions of the sky ship and will fall asleep. You will hate yourself more when you wake up, especially if jolted awake by turbulence. It serves as a humble reminder of our mortality and that despite having mastered machinery, we cannot master nature. And should she choose, she could take us out in one swift blow.

Be humbled, my friends, and heed my advice. Though they may be the ramblings of a woman crazed by sleep deprivation and overstimulation, they are born of truths.
