An AI data center has been proposed to be built directly next door to Nashville Zoo in Tennessee (United States)

AI is awful, data centers are worse. They are so environmentally draining and just terrible. Nashville Zoo is a fairly large Zoo, certified under the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (the highest standard of animal care/welfare as well as conservation, education, preservation.)

An AI data center would seriously affect Nashville Zoo from operating at ideal rates, and this will have a bigger impact on animal conservation around the world.

Omg, ok but Simon who’s in a coma after Grace and Rocky rescue him and periodicity 'waking up' to awareness but is still fully paralyzed. Trapped in his head after surviving the horrors with no idea where he is. For him to be introduced to Grace and Rocky that way? Who have no idea of him waking up beyond the brain activity scanners.

He'd be 100% vulnerable to these strangers, only able to hear them. And yet what he hears in only care and kindness. No malice intent at all. He’s safe.

he hears intellect, he hears compassion.

Maybe Rocky one time asks "Grace, is new human like us?"

"What do you mean, Rock?"

"Sent to save his home"

"Maybe. But they didn't seem to care what happened to him, if anyone sent him down there"

"We keep new human safe, then, statement."

Simon, in his few periods of consciousness, learning that when the weird voice that speaks somewhat broken English, says "statement" its something that the man (Grace) can't argue with. It is fact. Hell, it's *law*

And he feels gentle hands, the hands of a scientist, a teacher, changing his bandages and keeping them clean to help them heal. He sometimes feels a weight on the end of the bed, a comforting presence watching him sleep. He hears the two mystery saviors of his argue about who's turn it is to "watch new human sleep", like its something meant to protect the person, to keep them safe from something

So for once in his life, for once it seems someone hears his plea for compassion, for safety, despite never hearing him speak. Like they just... assumed he needed keeping safe, relied on kindness and good faith to let him heal.

He's met immediately with friendship (Rocky very much barges in when he hears Grace scream, but proceeds to immediately treat Simon the way he treated Grace when he climbed into the Hail Mary in the ball). A very forward introduction, but one that doesn't assume he's a monster, doesn't assume he's dangerous. Just... another life worth knowing

I have somehow gotten more violent about the fact I need a man

I’ve seen people do au’s of Bloody Mary where Grace’s twin brother is Colt Seavers from the fall guy which I honestly love but I haven’t seen anyone do what I consider to be the funniest option available which is make Ryland Grace an escaped Ken from Barbieland.

Think about it throughout PHM Ryland never talks about having a family he mentions having a girlfriend once in the book all we really know about her is that they moved in together briefly and that she had a lot of stuff.

Let’s say after Ken and Barbie break up. Ken decides to go out on his own and stumbles upon the real world. There he learns about science and becomes completely invested in that pathway. He either eventually figures out how to become a human or he stays a doll which could explain why he was the only one to survive his hyper sleep (and so he can live with rocky longer)

It could explain why he so heavily believes in non water based life so much because he WAS a non water based life form. Water doesn’t exist in Barbieland it’s all plastic.

Furthermore this could explain why he decided to become a teacher being a doll previously it’s only reasonable to assume he’d enjoy kid’s presence the same way Barbie does.

He also loves the beach and we all know that Ken’s previous job was beach

In the Barbie movie the CEO of Mattel states “we’re not worried about Ken…. Ever.” Meaning that it’s likely they wouldn’t care at all if a Ken left Barbieland and perused an education became a scientist and eventually a school teacher.

All this to say imagine Simon and Grace getting into some kind of fight where Simon is like

“You have no idea what it’s like to live your life forced to be a cog in the system. Knowing that what you want doesn’t matter, nobody caring about who you are not even your name matters”etc. etc.

and the entire time Grace is having PTSD flashbacks of this:

And then responds with:

“You wouldn’t last an hour in the place I grew up”
