Sometimes Doug will pop up on my dashboard and I'll remember what a screechy, whiny, nappy rash, mouly jumper wearing, mouldy oatcake, snotty, egg breath octopus he was and get really angry but then I'll remember he's dead and be happy

Mile 146

I have been dealing with a pretty bad Viral Throat Infection for that past week. It isn't anything specific like Strep Throat, but it IS contagious. I had to go to the ER because my Doctor is so booked (That's what happens when you go to a free clinic) that when I called, they said, based on my symptoms, that I needed to go to the ER. I waited for about 5-6 hours before being seen and it turned out it wasn't strep throat but according to the Doctor, who was incredibly kind and also very funny (I wish I could have thanked her, she was amazing!), the back of my throat looked like a Medieval European Cobblestone road. Just COVERED in snot. She also said I sounded like snot face. She told me everything I needed to get: Medications to dry up the mucous, stuff to help the drainage and a humidifier. She also prescribed me something called Magic Mouthwash to help with my sore throat because it hurts so much that I can't even breathe without it stinging. The mouthwash has been helping tremendously! So I got some meds and a humidifier but I'm still dealing with my sinuses treating me like shit. I can't seem to get rid of this infection because my sinuses and mucous drainage are continuously irritating my throat and glands, causing bacteria build up, and it's not letting anything rest long enough for the infection to go away. All I need is for the mucous to stop and I'd be fine but nope, it just doesn't want to. I seriously hate the weather down here. I never had sinus problem up in Pennsylvania but here in South Carolina I have nothing but mucous drainage and sinus issues. Ugh... Until I get this shit taken care of, I can't talk and I'm just going to have to deal with being snot face. And I need to figure out how to see my Primary before February of next year because the ER Doctor said I NEED a follow up since I have this infection... She said because I came to the ER, I should be able to get an appointment no problem but I somehow doubt that...
