Snow Strider
This Moose-like Rahi is named for self-explanatory reasons. Contrary to its name, however, it is also seen in the forests of Bo-Wari.
Snow Striders originated in the Middle Third Phase when Polara and Archoko were one continent. In the late Third Phase, after Archoko and Polara split up, the population ranges split off as well. They eventually moved down to Ko-Wari and Bo-Wari in Zakara because it too had suitable conditions for Striders.
Though none have been kept domestically, Snow Striders are often appreciated by Matoran for their tendency to shovel away snow or dirt with their antlers while searching for grass underneath snow. This process of shoveling away snow or dirt helps make roads for vehicles when in uneven snow or dirt.
After Archoko was destroyed at the end of the Late Third Phase, Snow Striders had to evacuate and repopulate from a large loss from the hard to escape explosion. The dent in their population caused them to be ranked as Near Threatened, but they are currently increasing.
Because they are still increasing, hunting is limited in most population sites and is completely banned in Bo-Wari.
