This is definitely one of my all time favourite drawings , most likely due to the fact that my friendship with this magical enlightened angel is a deep one . We lived at Big White Ski Resort together back in 1998 - 1999 . It was a special time for me because it was my first winter in BC as well as my first winter living away from my parents home in Ontario . I really enjoyed my freedom and I had a lot of good people around me up on that mountain . We lived on the mountain in a huge backpackers hostel , most of which was filled with seasonal residents . It had the feel of a university dorm only it was filled with mostly international snowboarders and a few skiers . Because we lived on the mountain we could snowboard and ski right out our door , which was really an amazing experience . The snow was deep and powdery and we had so much fun together . I was always hanging out with my Japanese friends . They would throw special parties that were exclusively created for Japanese people yet they would welcome me into the parties because they told me that I felt like home . It was seriously an honour and I am absolutely fascinated with Japanese culture .
