#my drawings #fanart #how the hell do i tag your ocs huhhh #zhenya oc #snowflake oc #i guess??? :'D #also imm ramble here cuz tahs are nice to hide in #this drawing took so long (MONTHS HELL) cuz it was basically all about learning how to do new stuff and experimenting :0 #first hurdle to pass was makin snowflake look anatomically correct especially for the legs and paw #how do the back legs look when theyre folded while jumping was my main issue. then it was making the fur #thats when i decided to commit to do the whole thing with a black pen #next hurdle was making zhenya running pose also dynamic enough but not too much cuz shes wearing heavy backpack and has layered clothing-#that kinda restrict movement soooo yep #when i finally started doing the foreground vegetation thats when i realised that doing the characters was actually the easy part :'D #bc holy fuck. i have gained a whole new level of reapect for artist actually doing backgrounds. this shit is so freaking haaaaard helpppp #the hatches on the bushes ? idk why i came up with that but i like it. so i kept it for all the bushes bahahaha #those were simples enough and doing the layera of snow on top of em was #now. for the trees. oh my. i actually learned how to shade?? em?? while doing this?#first one completed was the one on the right #i had to look up soooo many snowy landscapes drawing to try and see what i wanted to go for- not only for the trees but also the river #now doing trees is actually quite fun though i end up always doing the same shape now :'D #last thing to do was the most difficult- the fucking river. why did i chose to make em run on a frozen river ??!#bc its cool T_T #i tried to figure out how to shade?? water with the black pen but liked none of the result #so i ended up using a good old pencil :]#after that i scanned it and added the fog in the backgrounds with clipstudio #(thats also when i realized i fuckin forgor to render?? the water underneath the ice where snowflake jumps over)#(i used a ref from Moomin's background from the first ep where it shows a river to see how i could try to show the flowing water-#instead of it being just a gapping void xD)#overall im rather proud of this lil drawing cuz i learned a *lot* in the process
