It’s snowing today! The snowflakes are fat and thick.

It was silent come dusk, in her enclosed hollow Not even the pitter patter of the snow outside on grey grass Could be heard through the intricate glass walls With their handcarved frames of sturdy oak And the deep grooves from years of weather endured Glass was set cool, with frost edging forth Swirling pale patterns like woven white gold The furniture in the room stood startingly still Overtaken by a cooling chill It wasn't oppressing, this blue winter air Merely refreshing, like snowflakes on hair The smell of mint soon flooded the air Carrier about over and under, but not quite reaching the snow out asunder. The girl responsible padded forward, With her slippered feet nearly silent on the cool flooring Her hands were lit with warmth, though, despite the chilled air Because the tea in her cup, with its pastel shades Warmed her down to the bones that day
