Charles Wade's Bedroom, Snowshill Manor by Bob Radlinski Via Flickr: The paneled enclosure on the left with the curtain was his bed and he had the gallery on the right built to provide access to the window so that he could look out across the beautiful Cotswolds countryside to Littleworth Wood. Wade was a collector from an early age and he could afford to travel (and not work) around the world collecting all manner of stuff. He mostly collected hand-made objects, having an aversion to machine-made things. This bedroom is in the Priest's House, a cottage next to the main manor house. He lived here so that he could literally fill the main house with his collection, and there was obviously some spillover. Snowshill Manor is a delightful place to visit, not only for the unique collection of artifacts, but for the beautiful gardens as well. The village associated with the manor house is also worth a look and there is a pub.
