Return of the Glengarry Fencibles..?
Someone - I STRONGLY doubt its one of the brain dead ‘Top SNatsis’ - has had the idea to replace other headgear with glengarrys for the police uniform in Scotland.
I secretly like this move despite my meme. It’s got military heritage. It’s a cultural move that has resonance and its WAY better than baseball caps. Hence why I doubt it was dreamt up by a SNatsi!
The problem is Scots are losing confidence in the politicized police. They are too directly controlled and “pressured” by SNatsis. Their oversight is wholly partizan - as is their complaints procedure apparatus. So when even a cool idea comes up - but it has all the outward appearance of a SNatsi stunt - suspicions will be anything but allayed. The fat that there is a historically military overtone to the glengarry merely heightens the concerns.
Political and Inept?
Police Scotland has, since its creation by the amalgamation of all the Scots historic forces, developed an unenviable reputation for incompetence and being political.
Remember this politicized force is the same one that is now wholly demoralized, riddled with political window-dressing and virtue signaling (like it's whole Gaelic consultation process - as if that’s a proper police job!!) and other non-operational diversions. This at a time when Scots are facing up to accepting that thefts, burglaries and street violence have to be accepted as the norm - because SNPolice Scotland do nothing about them..! Its the force that has had to cycle through repeated changes at the top as senior officers and the SNatsi interactions cause friction after friction.

And this is also the force the the SNP tried to routinely arm officers - for absurd everyday operational actions. (Guns at traffic stops in Inverness..!). Another major false step by the SNatsis. (Just like the SNP’s illegal attempt to ditch the Royal cypher of the constabulary in Scotland - which had to be quashed from on high!)

So we can all be forgiven for being apprehensive when another ‘lets remake the police change comes along. We are too much of a beaten dog to see the approach of our tormentor without wincing.
Of course when they introduce kilts next - that will be pure SNatsi High Command overreach…! The SNP are not to be trusted with police oversight, policy or operations for Scotland.
