"You know, in some cultures if you dance like that with a girl and don't take her home, it's considered an insult." She teased as he finally appeared at the space that had become their meeting spot. The hunter was sure she had missed one or two arranged meetings, however she had been indisposed.
It had been a nice night, hadn't it? Not including the kidnapping, of course. She assumed that he either took part in the festivities or left quickly; Lis hadn't seen. Too focused on getting her siblings out, too focused on words from Nolan's lips and not fast enough for the hand wrapped around her throat. The thought of it made her shudder, phantom pressure returning to haunt her, remind her of her mistake. At least the kidnapping was to be thanked for one thing— if either of her siblings had realised who she had been dancing with, it was at the bottom of their current concerns.
Annalise hadn't had much time to recover, but it was enough. Blood had been lost, her body was still getting used to the rise and fall of it all in her system. Drained enough to negate any verbena in her bloodstream, then bled by someone who she used to let fuck her. Well, she knew how to pick 'em, right?
"How was the rest of your evening?" She knew she hadn't been missed, didn't know why that stung; put it down to her severe abandoment issues, always being left and never enough to stay for, never enough to miss so much you had to come back for.
