when I was hanging my photo show at Flicker someone remarked, “wow, there are a lot of pictures of women!” even tho it was exactly a 50/50 split (which I'd selected on purpose because um I was conflicted about whether my ~message~ should be about representing non-dude musicians OR being a female photographer objectifying male musicians) – I meannn, it wasn’t like he made the comment in a negative way, not at all, but it was too ambiguous of a tone to come across as totally positive, either, and anyway where’s that post about how men misperceive the gender distribution of people in a room and tend to think it’s equal when there’s actually fewer women present and think it’s “more women” when there’s actually an even split? heh
