one word prompts.

          it was not until he’d begun to snore – the light sound emitting from his breath, his body rising and falling in an even balance with it – that she’d realized he’d fallen asleep. still, even upon recognition, her own digits remained placed carefully in brown locks, idly playing with the (surprisingly!) soft strands. her motion did not alter, remaining just as she initially had when she’d first invited him to lay on her lap. 

          she’d found herself brushing a few strands away from his visage, taking a few moments to admire how peaceful it was during sleep. while once upon a time she would have awoken him from slumber – ‘wake up, you lazy bum!’ – those times were now far gone, lost in the crevices of memories she swore she’d once forgotten. this time, she allowed him the rest; feeling just as peaceful as his expression implied, even when her legs went numb beneath his weight as the hands of the clock ticked by.

A gentle giggle creeps up behind Lion! When the other might look around, there is naught a thing to be spotted? But upon turning around, there is Maria, extending a jack o lantern candy to the other, looking joyful! "Happy Halloween Lion!!"

My! Whatever could be the source of that mysterious giggle? Turning to look around in the general direction of where the sound was coming from, Lion only saw a blank spot much to their surprise. Turning back the source was easily located, with Maria standing in front of them with a joyful glee on her face. It was clear how much she enjoyed the American holiday, and though they cared not much for it, Lion decided to go along with Maria’s wish.

“Thank you, Maria. I’ll be sure to eat it after dinner.” With a bright smile of their own, Lion accepted the candy. “Don’t look now but I have a surprise for you as well!” Pulling out a ghost-shaped lollipop from a pocket, Lion handed it over to Maria. Knowing how much Maria enjoyed Halloween, they had decided to get a little something for her while visiting mainland.

“Happy Halloween, Maria! Be sure to eat dinner first before opening it.”
