does anyone know how to supress the urge to care abt everyone else before urself
Someone needs to convince me not to change my theme again
On a topic slightly to the left, one thing that really scares me is how our digital tracks enable the Internet At Large to pick apart a person's life, like we're seeing being done with the suspected UHC shooter.
Say an innocent person is accused. Maybe they're let off, but not before the Internet At Large has analysed their life, dug out every stupid or ugly thing about them, and put it into the public record. That never goes away.
And you don't even need to be accused of a crime. You could be a victim of a crime. You could have a stalker. You could be the target of a harassment campaign.
There's a reason I try to stay anonymous on social media (except for my model hobby life, where my real name is tied to my reputation in the community and I take that reputation very seriously). There's a reason I stay out of the pics that go on my work place's insta.
Like just seeing people pick apart this guy's life and background and political ideology and every move he's made - it gives me the chills.
That could be anyone, if the Internet At Large has a reason.
man. nimbus played Such a huge role in helping paz get back on his feet after losing charis. the two of em were already p good friends after they met during lightfall but nimbus was rly the one who brought him back out of his shell
gazing pleadingly at my vox / val / vel mutuals.......i'm having thoughts about the potential odile + vees dynamics again...................
reze and denji just make me really emotional because at first glance the impression they give is that of puppy love and that’s also kind of what you’re supposed to think (so it can be subversed): after all denji has been through he finally meets a ”normal” girl and gets a taste of a ”normal” relationship, which of course turns out to be an illusion because reze isn’t normal either, she’s literally just like denji. in what she is and who she’s working for and why she’s working for them and everything she has missed out on because of the circumstances she was born into. reze and denji aren’t compelling as a pairing because they’re the ”most normal choice” or ”healthiest option” because that simply isn’t true, they’re compelling because when the illusion of puppy love is stripped away what remains is the truth that they’re both abused children turned exploited teenagers. that’s the last thought that sticks to reze’s mind before she dies: she never went to school either.
