SnK - AoT New Ending Analyze!
Cause that is my favorite thing to do.
But first, a little warning if you are an anime only fan!

I did.
Personally, I loved the new ending. It was creepy, it was kinda weird but I loved it. My two fave things combined together, a new ending and a chance to analyze it, I couldn’t miss this change!
Also I am really hyped about new episode as well. I should probably stop fangirlling and start analyzing.
Our new ending opens with a familiar scene we have seen before. Ymir, the great goddess of Eldia.
The first image we see at new ending is the event that started everything, Ymir Fritz’s contract with the Devil of all Earth.
Ymir gives the devil her apple that symbolizes her remained lifespan or some other thing she has given up to gain the power of Titans. The devil at the ending looks a little different than the devil at the manga but that is an artistic difference, of course.
Next scene!
Our story continues with Ymir using the power of Titans to defeat ancient Marley Empire and becoming the founder of Eldia.
Ending is following the same story line as well.
We see a creepy 845 at our screens suddenly, this year is known as the year where Wall Maria fell.
People crying and praying at background, an old man with serious looks comforting 3 children which eating the remaining pieces of dead body.
There are different ways to read this scene, it may be a reference to Maria, Rose and Shina, the three goddesses Walled Society are worshipping. Come to think of it, we really don’t know anything about these 3 goddesses. With Ymir Fritz’s story, we witnessed that anyone become a god or devil in SnK world, who are these 3 goddesses then I wonder? At our Ymir’s, Ymir with no name’s, story, we learn that there are Eldians at mainland who are still worshipping Ymir Fritz. I understand that First King needed to chance the religion to alter Walled Society’s memories but we never get to know why he choose to replace Ymir with Maria, Rose and Shina. This may be a symbolism of how these 3 goddesses, Maria, Rose Shina, took Ymir Fritz’s place after First King altered the memories of Walled People and the old man might be the First King himself.
Another way to read this scene is that the dead body belong to Ymir Fritz herself and those 3 children devouring her are her predecessors took her place after her death. But why 3 not 9? There are 9 shifters took her place after Ymir Fritz’s death.
Ok, these were hard to catch.
Do you guys remember the history texts Kruger gave to Eldian Revolutionists?
Guess what these screenshots are?
I might have screamed a little when I caught these ones, I admit.
I am not saying these are definetely the fake historical documents at Grisha files, these screenshots might be also referring the missing historical texts and knowledges Eldians have lost during those 2000 years.
So this is interesting, why Titans are coming out of the sea? If you are not an anime only fan that likes spoilers so fucking much, you should know the true origins of Titans. Anime only fans out of this post by the way, don’t ruin the excitement for you.
But of course our old friend symbolism is here, as well.
We know that the mindless Titans are actually Eldians who were living at the other side of ocean. After getting the Marley Treatment, they have become mindless Titans. So with new ending, our wonderful anime stuff are saying where actually Titans are originated from.

Such a joyful moment this is! Two other ways to read this scene.
First is this:
Even at the fake history First King created, we know how desperate humans are or were against Titans.
But I bet money on another thing, it may be actually the Eldian Empire history we learned at chapter 86 from Granpa Jaeger.
I bet my money to second guess.
Also this and some other screenshots under may be a reference to Titan Invasion story we learned from the beginning of story.
Or these scenes may be a reference to the Fall of Wall Maria and Trost Arc, basically.
The evocation of Wall Rose citizens after sudden appereance of Beat Titan, Chapter 37.

Fucking Walled Titans dancing at the ending yes!

These people seem to going somewhere, maybe they are migrating? To where? To a new life? To a kingdom far far away? Probably.
Next scene is one that makes me lose my head.
These goddamn flowers. Again.
I have searched these pretty flowers many times, best result I get was according to this meta HERE, these flowers are symbolizing “disappointment, loss”. We see them many times at anime, from episode 1 to episode 26.
Next scene is also interesting.
A bird flying far far away, taking freedom away with his wings. Bird takes freedom away with his appearance from our sight, freedom is no longer around.
Titans start to soar from sea and freedom is nowhere to found. Humanity, or Walled Society, are gonna leave under the terror of Titans.
Titans start to soar from the sea because that is where danger is coming from, from the other side of the ocean. From Marley.
I lost my shit at next scene.
Because this is literally this:

The “x” on Ymir Fritz.
We know Marley wanted to delete Ymir, we know First King also did the same. And the x on Ymir Fritz shows all the contrast and hate against her. Her legacy has been destroyed and altered, we don’t know many things about this mysterious woman. And the x is not just the hate against her, but also to Eldians.
Thrilling.
Generally, it was mainly Chapter 86 and the first season focused ending. Anime staff was focused to build a connection between new chapters and old ones, also this ending was a starter pack to anime only watchers to new info they are gonna get god knows when. Info dump and spoilers were flying everywhere. Personally, I loved it. Bravo anime staff and the singers, you nailed it! Hope you guys enjoyed it as much as I did too!
Damn it I already want everything to be animated I don’t want to wait for another 84 years damn.
