Molten eyes steadied upon the child who had taken a most unfortunate tumble. In his hands was her hat. Larger than her head. The quilted material was plush beneath his hands. Well made. Someone in that sad underbelly loved her.
“You dropped this,” he said, letting it fall back atop her head.

✩ . — An adventure was awaiting her in the Overworld as Hook exited the cable car station. Honeyed eyes looked around eagerly, for there were new sights to see and new people to meet, even if she had visited this place almost everyday. She picked up her pace, little feet bringing her up to speed as she ran down the street. Perhaps, the girl was too excited, that she did not notice a small ledge sticking out from the side of the road.
❝ Wah— ! ❞
Kicking her feet against the hard gravel made her lose balance, causing her to topple over. Hook let out a quiet grunt at the fresh pain that came from the impact but picked herself back up immediately after. The usual child would have burst into tears, crying about how much it hurt, but not Hook— she had experienced far worse than just this little fall.
Gloved hands brushed the dirt off of her clothes, feeling around the fabric to see if her outfit was still intact. Yet, the cold gust of wind that blew against the top of her head signified that something was missing, her head did feel rather cold...and light.
Just as she was about to look around, she felt something fall on top of her head, something soft and bouncy. It was her beloved hat! Yellow eyes sparkled with happiness as she let out a small, joyful gasp. Holding onto it tight, making sure that it would not fall again— Hook turned around to greet the tall shadow that loomed over her.
His gaze met hers, red irises that were surprisingly cold and...dead. It was an ominous sight, to say the least, but the girl did not seem intimidated at all. Plus, anyone who helped Hook was definitely a good person!
❝Wow! Thank you, kind Mister! ❞ She hopped on the spot, a warm smile gracing upon tiny lips as she expressed her gratitude. But soon after, her hand motioned for him to bend down, and when he did, she leaned in to whisper.
❝ You have to promise not to tell anyone that Pitch-Dark Hook the Great fell on the streets today, okay? It's embarassing... ! ❞
