None of my friends are into lc, I have no one to rant about the game and I blame you for making me ship Ish and Faust so I'll share a headcanon with you. Ish regularly gets nightmares of the ship she lived on sinking, especially if she falls asleep on the bus, the noise of the engine reminding her of waves crashing into the hull, she wakes up distressed and disoriented but since she doesn't trust any of the morons from the company she keeps to herself and tries to calm down as quietly and quickly as she can. No one would notice there's anything wrong anyway because she's good at keeping her emotions in check. But I think Faust would notice something's up. She wouldn't say anything to Ish tbh because that'd be awkward, not that Faust cares about being awkward, but I think they'd make eye contact for just a split second, Ish turning her gaze away while Faust continues to stare her down, telepathically trying to dig through her mind. Faust would take interest in these feelings Ish is trying to keep burried deep inside because she herself doesn't know what it's like to feel panicked to the extent of getting reoccuring nightmares but I think she'd want to look into how trauma affects the human mind (and maybe she'd do some unethical experiments on Ish idk)

im jk i think this is super interesting though i think ur right that faust would take an interest in understanding what about ishmael is all about under the surface repercussions of traumawise maybe she wouldnt be good at comforting but i think ishmael wouldn't want to be comforted anyway bc maybe it makes her feel weak or pitied but they want to have the mutual understanding bc neither of them ask too many questions for the other
